I've never understood the high price of so many older Fords all of a sudden. The old MK1/2 Escorts, Cortinas I can believe, as they have a real racing history and pedigree to them, but the 80s XR, RS fords... Why? XR3is, RS Turbos don't really have any racing heritage to make them expensive, and compared to many other hot hatches from the time, weren't anything special. MK4 XR3is took the best part of 10 seconds to get from 0-60, didn't handle, and the CVH didn't like to be revved hard; but you had to rev it hard otherwise the car wouldn't go anywhere! RS Turbos were pretty slow for something that was turbocharged. Atleast XR2s handled like go-karts and were reasonably nippy for something sub-100 bhp, but I don't see why you now have to £4000+ for a good one. Is it just nostalgia?
