  1. Happy 3 Anniversary Jamie_B!

  2. GReddy front lip and an already painted TRD valance. Already got the weather strip and will hopefully fit the valance over the weekend. The GReddy lip doesn't sit as low as I had expected and it is a great fit, kudos to Ray - great service on top of a great product! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  3. Interesting and disappointing to hear of the feedback from the GT86, such a lovely looking car and adding the supercharger kits really turns them into a serious weapon. Where are you getting the info mate, I would to believe it's true but I am sure the gen 7 is the last of the Celica's. The GT86 was to be the new sports coupe from Toyota and they are making a AWD turbo version of the GT86 launching next year.
  4. Picked this up today as waiting for two parts to use it on Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  5. Japspeed exhaust from JdmB, shall give it a good polish before getting fitted and car through MOT. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  6. Order from Opie Oils (Oilman) - great price, CCUK discount and quick delivery.
  7. As you mention, it streams apps from the phone (iphone or android) or android stick. If you use only the licensed App Radio app, you are limited to what apps you can use. If you do not connect a phone or android stick the unit basically useless, as you will only be able to use the radio, and hands free system. In addition, you can connect up a wireless/wired camera. To get the full potential from the unit, you are best to connect to an android stick. Using the screen mirror function it gives you the android interface on the head units screen. Bare in mind without rooting and installing the app radio unchained app, you will not be able to touch the screen in order to navigate/use any of the apps. You can connect a mouse, or use the remote control that is provided however this would be pointless in my mind. Really simple steps to root the device and install the other app from the Play store. If you check out Vin's mod thread, he has some videos of the kit in action, YouTube is also full of demos with the android software on the unit. I have found some tweaks that are not in the guides online that speed up the connection time - under 20 seconds. I use my phone as a wifi hot spot which then gives the head unit internet access - so can go online, use Google maps, sky go, TV catch up, spotify etc. And with it being android UI - you can customize it in pretty much anyway you want.
  8. Both myself and Vin use this model, possibly more... http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_157926.html Frustrating for me the price has come down a fair bit now since September, but to be expected I guess. I do have some teething issues with some of the apps (none that I actually use for the car) crashing on me. I am going to do a firmware flash using the standard android 4.4 one and hopefully will sort it out. Only thing that I find somewhat annoying is it doesn't play music from the last point you had the car running, like your typical CD player would. There is probably some setting to sort this, but it does not annoy me that much.
  9. Nah it is not mate eh, that feeling when walking back after the game had finished and noticing straight away my car was not where I left it is something I would hope to never experience again - as some have said before - truly are some scummy people out there in this world.
  10. This happened to me a few years back ....just bought a BMW 320 - mainly as me and the Mrs just had our little girl and needed a bigger car. Had the car 10 days and it was stolen from Glasgow Green Football park, a day before my birthday. Guy had been waiting to see what teams arrived and in what cars, he found out the name of my football team, and went to the changing rooms and said he needed in to get his shin pads.....went through loads of peoples pockets, took phones, money and my car key. I got an update to stay they had found someone in possession of my key, only for the following day to receive a call to say they found the car torched in Shettleston....Said they had found who stole the car - it wasn't the guy found with the key. Three attempts were made to take it to court, he never showed for any of them and I had wasted three days off work, Ironically I have got a citation for another court date in February....three and a half years after it happened, I see it being a farce again. I won't even go into the hassle I had with the insurance company as well as Arnold Clark who tried to back out of their Gap Insurance Policy they sold me.
  11. I have the App Radio 2 (SPH-DA100) which isn't all that expensive to pick up these days. You have the option to either connect an Iphone 4(s) or most Android phones (as long as you have the android kit) and use the Pioneer App Radio App which will allow you to play music, sat nav, However the functionality is a little poor with just the standard app. For a while I was running an old Iphone4s that was constantly hooked up in the glove box - this way I didn't have to connect a phone every time I was in and out of the car. However, battery dying and having the relaunch the app every now and again was getting kind of annoying. So I bought an android stick and rooted the device, then purchased the app radio unchanged app from the play store which allows you to use the screen mirroring function on the app radio with android devices, but gives you full touch screen control with the android software. Very easy to do, and there are many guides out there - you basically have a carputer system as you can play games, watch tv, music, movies, use google maps or any other sat nav system you wish. I haven't messed about with it lately however I need to find a way of which I can still connect my phone via bluetooth for the handsfree function without knocking out the android stick, I am sure it is easily done though.
  12. My T Sport came with the OEM Sat Nav and stereo system, worked fine but I never really played about with it. Took it out and installed an App Radio system and hooked to an android stick, basically gives the same as the android system in one of the above links - really good - but does annoy me songs don't play from when I turned it off.
  13. That is pretty good mate, where abouts did you get it done? I want to see what mine puts out.
  14. Happy 2 Anniversary Jamie_B!

  15. I can't see the pictures due to being in work at the moment however in terms of the Wilwoods, they are by far the best value for money modification you can get on the Gen 7 (in my opinion - of course others may disagree). The improvement not only in stopping power (if required) but the brake pedal feel - gives you much more confidence when driving. I done some reading on these and should not really require a refurb. Perhaps cleaning the pistons is the best thing to do if you are going to take them out and give them a good clean down. Let me know how you get on with the refurb kit for the rears, mine are shot and need new disks, pads and will probably just buy refurbed calipers from the bay.
  16. Yeah I have been looking for shims online, seem to have found ones from the states for the dynalites, I will give them a go. I did buy universal ones from mintex that you cut to fit, but didn't think they made to much of a difference. But I kinda wrecked them when I took apart the calipers when thinking I had fooked them (its the rear caliper).
  17. Am I right in thinking the superlites will not suffer from the horrific brake squeal the dynalites give out?
  18. Some interesting reading here ! I got my first Celica when I turned 21, I had waited over a year for an insurance claim to be settled after a van drove into the side of me while I was driving in a car park... I had always loved the look of the Celica and ended up buying a lagoon blue T sport. For a good few months, I never knew lift existed, you can imagine how much more I liked the car after this. After just short of 3 years of owning her I opted to hand her back, I had been offered a coaching role in L.A. (football) and could not afford to keep the Celica and go to the states. So after coming back from the states and driving a number of different cars, BMW's, Astra SRI's and a Clio....I could not help myself and return to the Celica fold. I almost bought a run in silver T sport as I wanted one so badly, but ended up paying just over £3k for a 06 storm blue T sport with 91k. I know this was probably a bit over the top, however the car felt solid in comparison to the silver one I test drove. Currently a Business Support Analyst and for a while, used to see a thunder grey GT kicking about my way. My old Celica still appears to be live an well in Edinburgh these days, I had left the stickers on her but not sure if the new owner ventured onto here, certainly not seen it kicking about anyway.
  19. Very much looking forward to seeing these fitted ! One question though, the smaller braided lines you have, are they for the rears? Reason I ask when I got my car MOT'd the guy thought that my dyalaites should have had a braided/standard hose going across the bottom bleed niples as he was a bit baffled by the 4 nipples? He said he wasn't sure but in truth, if this was the case I am sure Freaky would have given me the heads up.
  20. Thanks guys, Pretty certain this is down to a sticky caliper on the rear. I am going to take the car off the road for a bit until I get all the odd jobs sorted out. Near disks, pads and calipers for the rears - will probably add braided lines to match the fronts. Custom exhaust build as silencer is away in mine and does have a leak of emissions. hopefully won't be more than £400 all in and then I can get back to fully enjoying driving the car, I still have to look at it when I walk away from parking her up, such a good looking car - so I know the love is still there! As always, thanks again guys!
  21. Not sure if this is a general issue as brake related but here goes... After a spirited drive I noticed that when I was applying the brake I was getting a sort of thudding sound which seemed to be coming from the front drivers brake. This only happened when brakes were applied and wheels were moving freely when not braking. Any idea what this could be? I done some searching and a common cause appears to be lose brake pads. So I took off the wheels and had a look at the brake pads however could not see that they were lose. I only checked the fronts before the heavens opened up but certain that is where it is coming from. In the process, when I was taking off the drivers side wheel, I have spacers and one of the extended bolts, was attached to my studs....not sure if this would be the cause? Car - Gen 7 T Sport Brakes - Wilwood Dynalites (front) Standard (rears) On my last MOT, the guy did say the rear brakes barely passed the requirements so not sure if these could have went. Car is starting to do my head in with all the brake related issues it seems to be throwing up. I really do not want to revert back to standard calipers on the front. I am waiting till the end of the month to replace the rear disks pads and calipers. Might be worth noting that there doesn't appear to be any impact on the brakes performance, but I am obviously being pretty careful so might not be applying the brakes as I normally would as get the recurring thudding noise. Any help would be great guys.
  22. As most have said I too was surprised that my insurance was not void as a result of not having a valid MOT. "Jamie, If you wanted us to claim off the third party on your behalf, we would look to cover you as the ‘no mot’ wasn’t the reason the incident occurred. I hope this clears this issue up for you. Regards, Felicia Claims Adviser AXA Insurance 5 Century place | Lamberts Road | Tunbridge Wells | Kent | TN2 3EH" This was the response from my insurance which gives me a whole lot of confidence knowing I will get this sorted. The company of the driver have not returned my call and given their attitude about the whole situation, I will probably just ask my insurer to resolve this for me, a lucky escape really.
  23. The company uses hire vans for their work however use their own insurance company. The guy I have been dealing with did state that they have a pretty hefty excess.... and if my car is going to cost circa £300-400 then that is why they will be happier going through that process I imagine.
  24. Apologies for any confusion. The car had no valid MOT at the time of the accident. It was however booked in for an MOT to take place this Saturday, I was leaving the car with them. That said, I have spoken with my insurance company who advised that the MOT would not invalidate the insurance and they would happily pursue the claim on my behalf as it would be a non fault claim where the circumstances clearly puts full responsibility on the third party driver, who additionally has already admitted full liability for the accident. I am going to my GP today as I have some mild pain in my neck and lower back from the impact. Depending on what the GP says will determine if I feel it would be worthy pursing any injury claim. I strongly oppose people who fake/exaggerate injury claims as it does have a impact on all of us when it comes to taking out insurance. The main thing that really annoyed me was the message from the company director. We will pay for your car directly to be repaired (fingers crossed its purely cosmetic). This aspect I am more than happy with however the next part of the message "In terms of covering any additional costs for your inconvenience (hire car while repairs carried out, time off work) they simply are not going to entertain any of that.... That felt like they are taking the piss a bit, as their driver smashes into the back of me while stationary.....
  25. After only 4 days of having my car back from being off the road for close to two months, a white van smashes into the back of me at a roundabout. Thankfully there is minimal damage to my car (drivers fog will need replaced and paintwork touched up on the bumper) and the van actually came off worse. I was stationary and the van hit me out the blue, he immediately admitted liability so his manager gave me a call to see what options would be the best course of action. I have not called my insurance company as yet, I got two quotes from bodyshops, the first one came in at £380 and the second originally came in at £200.00. They were then quite happy to push the price up to £300 and touch up a deep scratch on the quarter panel that was on the car when I bought it. I went back to the manager and he says he will pass on to his director and see if they will cover the cost and give me something extra for the hassle of it all. He then calls me back and states the director wants to pay the bodyshop directly for the work however offer me nothing more. I am actually in a bit of pain today with my lower back and neck as he must of hit me at a good speed and its the van size up from the transit and I didn't see it coming. Should I just reject the offer and go through my insurance? One thing to point out that has me worried about doing this is while my car was off the road, my MOT expired and its booked in for this Saturday to get done. A quick check online shows that having no valid MOT does not mean your insurance is invalid, the inspector will ensure the car was road worthy prior to the accident based on his findings. I know many would jump at the chance of going through the insurance under the above circumstances......could even fund a rotrex install. Any help would be appreciated.
