  1. Pleased to hear it Danny. Just one thing, unless you are really nifty with a spanner and given your slightly rollercoaster nature it would be sooooooooooo much easier just to save up a few hundred quid and buy a 190, but the more you splash onto your 140 the less you will want to do that. Now assuming you are a stubborn f*ckwit Yorkie like myself. or did you say you arent naturalised, I cant recall,...........you will ignore the advice and do what you want..........in which case fine but on the other hand in case you change your mind, keep all the old bits so you can switch the springs atc to the new car later. Confused? You should be I am! Getting a facelift 140 for a grand was good going though. What mileage has it got?
  2. Saxo is for stuffing, just saying...............
  3. 50-70 a wheel seems the norm so 160 for 5 is good, unless the work is crap but you would be saving yourself a set of lowering springs to diy.
  4. if using rattlers get one of these................ http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sis.html?_kw=Plasti-Kote+Can+Gun+With+Trigger+Paint+Plastikote&_id=350836408404 was recommended by a member, maybe Cravo, maybe not! But good call anyway much easier on index finger for extended periods and MUCH better control of amount of spray power.
  5. a couple of hours cleaning and sanding, a couple of hours mending kerbing, took them down to the wheel shop, they sprayed a couple of coats. I didnt like it so went over the top with some rattle cans, another couple of hours. Job done.
  6. Excellent Danny the Pheonix Though I wouldn't put the Pheonix on the bonnet. A bit Pontiac "Trans-Am" cliche I think.
  7. Danny, there is a remarkable cross section of humanity on here bud ! We pick up on all sorts. You were sounding very like my eldest. He was in love with his FTO until re ran it down the motorway with no water in it. 2 engine rebuilds later and strangely the love was gone. He now claims to be happy as Larry in a 20 yr old Micra that isnt emptying his bank account on a regular basis. He gets his "blues" from his mother who gets it reeeeal bad so I did feel the vibes. Keep calm. Carry on!
  8. Oh dear. A few questions.......... 1. What did you pay for it? 2. What do you expect from a car for that? 3. What better car for the money would you get now? No one can make you love a car any more than they can make you love a person. If it's not the right car for you then move on, but every car has its good and bad points the gen 7 included. Perhaps you will feel better after your cycle is finished?
  9. Yes, where the pads touch the finish will wear away. Only that area will then oxidise. As for colour that is entirely down to preference. You have grey car so if you dont want them to stand out the silver and 18 or black and 14 followed by gold and 15. Generally only those you run over will notice / be impressed with your colour choice, but it does beat rusty hubs for sure!
  10. If I had mastered new phone I could have done it on the way home. Pffffft! Next time?
  11. ummmmmmmmmm it's a photo challenge to show your car surrounded by trees....................... Prob 1 . No trees. Nice car though!
  12. A very valid point Danny! I'm not one of the Shirley Basseys but I'm in for a couple of grand so I could be looking maybe at a 6k car. Then it comes down to do you want a ropey whatever or a throughly sorted TSport. I was only looking to spend 2500 in the first place! Things change. I am keeping the car for at least a couple years more and will get my monies worth and expect very few nasty bills. With something more flash I would get more bills and more depreciation. That is my feeble attempt to logic my way out. It comes down to the fact I am spending non borrowed money and having fun for me. What others do is entirely up to them. I don't like being judged by people who know nothing of me and so don't judge others I don't know well. I'm not knocking the cars you mention as some members here have them, but I buy a car because it is the car I want. I want TSport. I have TSport. End message.

How about Search Results storm blue English--------------- Japanese ストームブルー Sutōmuburū
  19. Baz, an old college girlfriend of mine came in one day eyelids aflutter that her boyfriend had just given her a Japenese love poem. Instantaneously I recited....... "Teo torriatte konomama iko Aisuruhito yo Shizukana yoi ni Hikario tomoshi Itoshiki oshieo idaki" Noting the gobsmacked look on her face I just explained it's a verse of the latest Queen album he's bought. If looks could kill.......... Pick the bones out of that for a new name!
  20. What can I say? It's storm blue so I called it Black Betty. I defy all logic!
  21. IE go to corporate section, then styling, then "Skewer" and you will find our member "Mook" who will sort you out some vinyl copies to stick on and lacquer over.
