  1. best of luck mate , hopefully you will come back at some stage ..... maybe even a gt86 haha
  2. yeah the way i look at it as long as you have some good brakes , the brakes on this car are still good but its just the rears that are slightly worn down. I think for the deals that stu does are pretty good compared to going to MR T.i may even get one of those cylinder braces too (think i found them on ebay for around £30 , i have no idea how much a caliper would set me back though , surely it would be better to buy a new one. they are pretty pricey on here : http://brakeparts.co.uk/#page=parts&pageSection=BHR&mancode=TOYO&brand=TOYOTA&model=CELICA&modelversion=CELI*(01-)+ZZT231+1.8+VVTI+FWD+-+190BHP maybe i will do some researching on the net
  3. yep i will get funds together and contact stu at freakyparts (his will be better than spec) , and source some new calipers as well ....
  4. my first celica has just sailed through the mot this morning , the only advisory was that the rear left side caliper is slightly seized and also the pads and discs are going to be needed very shortly .He said their not dangerous as hes put it through and that he checked the readouts on the wheel machine and thats the results. I did actually tell paul my mot guy that i was aware that the brakes will need doing shortly and are my next vital thing to be sorted ,i dont drive too far at the moment so probably i will see what i can get together so i can get it done after the new year but they will be done . so it looks like i will have to get a full set of pads /discs from freaky parts , maybe buy a pair of new calipers but what else would i be likeliy to need ?
  5. very nice how much did they set you back ? very nice how much did they set you back?
  6. they seem to be a real good sparkplug , myk how much did you buy fr a set off him for , because i only looked at the first page and it said something like £7.50 per plug and that he guarantees them for 3 years , is this still the case ?
  7. myk whats the difference between halos and the iridiums , or are they the same as mine are going to be replaced shortly ..
  8. yep sheer jealousy , not good i know
  9. i used to have my older cars on standard 95 ron and when i got the celica (it says in the book you are supposed to use superunleaded ) i always wanted to use it in my old v6 but never got round to trying it but shell vpower i wouldnt use anything else.. so a thumbs up from me
  10. jamie , ams or some of the engine techheads on here will be able to help ....
  11. one thing i always find bizarre is say you get to half a tank and then a while later it goes up one notch lol so what was the octane booster that you used kay?
  12. very good mate , im sure autosol would of worked too with a bit of time polishing ...
  13. not good mate , i have loads of patched up areas , even areas that look like someone has touched up the car with humbrol paint , trouble is because storm blue looks black guess what colour theyve applied to the car ... idiots ,scratches i still need to get out as well .its one thing that stands out and i hate it about my car but hey its a car that was poorly looked after (they probably used a sponge when washing it which is like rubbing stones over the paintwork. and a lot of dents , apparently the owners before the last owner were females and he said he recieved the car as it was last march .. It definately wasnt him as he also owned a gen5 too
  14. i bought a set of falken ze914s in 215s ,they set me back £320 all fitted from a local garage .. im finding they are better grip in wet and nice grip in dry and theyve taken away the wheel bearing noise away
  15. Ger youve started a epidemic mate hehe ..but why not im always getting people looking especially in town and last night i had a honda civic old shape making all the noise until i started moving and then mine started sounding louder with the growl ...cant wait to get performance filter and a new performance exhaust but the civic sounded not much more noisier than mine .. great that people want to take pics of a good looking car (gen7 owners will understand ..
  16. lucky escape mate , glad it didnt damage the car and you didnt have any type of accident
  17. well today was the first time the new tyres got there handling in the wet , they are very good even when you hit places of water they just glide through it , no wheelbearing type noise and feel much better and more comfortable tyres.
  18. cant beat vpower .... ive tried to get my girl to use it in her audi a3 but she says unleaded is ok
  19. tbh i dont use my car for trackdays , if i had a donor vehicle i might of done it but not as its my only pride of joy that gets me to work etc they cant be that bad especially when you look at the oe ones
  20. ahh so the cheap ones crack over time and its best to stick with grooved ones
  21. so the nice drilled /grooved ones are not as good as the standard oe discs ? i know pads have to be the best ones you can afford but ive never heard of this before... i need to replace all my discs pads soon as well
  22. nope i spoke to neil@greenlight and he said if it was wheels it would have to be declared but not tyres
  23. well guys when i had the tyres done yesterday they did them at 34 and they feel great
