  1. My AT200 7AFE just turned over the 198K mark... no issues
  2. I thought it allowed the rad to 'breathe' so excess coolant can be dumped into the bottle and sucked back into the system as needed. I have mime topped up between the max/min marks and have noticed it varies alot after each drive. I suspect if you block it up you may build pressure somewhere and that can't be good for various seals etc.
  3. Same here either older and oblivious women or young asian/arabic underworld fraternity, with an 'I kill you' look, so I tend to play safe and stick with the gen6/5/4 hellos
  4. I've noticed I seem to get more attention from Subaru owners giving me the nod and having a buzz around me to check out the car. Gen 7s here seem to be in a world of their own, the few 6s I have seen sort of acknowledge with a little prompting
  5. I nearly got run over by one of those bloody 'priarses' in silent mode on Saturday, at least a noisy exhaust will make people plugged into their effing iPods etc wake up and notice you before stepping out in the road.'
  6. Wire brush is alot less effort and less risk of catching your hand on something
  7. I'm planning to rub down and paint mine silver so it looks like a continuation of the silver alloys I have. If I had black wheels i'd do them black, think a contrasting colour would look a bit naff, too much i think.
  8. nice one pre-MOT jitters are creeping in for me with my 194k SR
  9. Good news, another gen 6 lives to see another day Mines due MOT in September, working on bits and pieces atm to hopefully push it through with no troubles.
  10. I started to worry about my 194k on my SR, but having known its history servicing it and compiled list of minor niggles that can be sorted I'm more confident it will last a wee while. I bought this after getting rid of an 09 corsa, because it was boring and things didn't always go right with it and didn't work out cheaper in the long run. I work next to a kwik fit and see the state of some of the new cars that go in there, and regularly chuckle passing a new(ish) car on the hard shoulder having 'issues', doesn't matter how new it is, if it aint looked after it will bite your arse. At the end of the day only you can decide, But newer isn't alway better IMO. A gen 6 GT with 180k wouldn't put me off, I wish I knew before I bought the SR what I know now and got a GT, but I'm enjoying and looking after what I've got, just happy to be in a 6
  11. I'd be interested to find out any verdicts too on this, I did put a post up looking for any feedback about DIY glass chip repairs, but none came, I looked at the halords kit, but was deterred from getting it due to bad reviews on their site. I've got the same sort of issue as yourself with minor chips (3) and loathing the idea of getting in touch with Admiral so early on in a policy with them.
  12. Glad you got it sorted I'm a bit OCD with it, Got a spreadsheet going with part nos and prices from different suppliers, then play them off to cut it down further. why pay more indeed.
