  1. thanks dude, will see if cleario unearthes anything and let you know
  2. cheers dude will have another play this evening, bit of a pain!
  3. Hi bit of a favour to ask. Tried to check my timing and my timing gun isn't working. Not sure if gun is an issue or not, so wandered any Cardiff members who had a timing gun have a spare half hour to visit my car and check its timing ?! Cup of tea supplied
  4. "Same here mate. I used Halfords lacquer before and had average results. The moment I used Simoniz (spelling?) lacquer the results were far better!" Where did you grab that from ? Need a bit more polish on my front and rear bumper, finish is ok, not glossy enough theough! Using halfords lacquer (though will give it another sand first)
  5. Don't know much on gen 7 prices, but that looks like it was a total bargain!
  6. Tee, do the spacers fit the other way, so first stock, then machined on top ? Just thinking of the two spacer idea, maybe they fit together better machined out ?
  7. kinda thought the short lip was maybe an aftermarket alloy, but machining the inside ?? Two spacers = 1 spacer twice as good!
  8. Cool, Thanks similar live route and kill switch to mine (its obvious probably but will tell you where mine by pm if you want). Any reason he is going back to the bay with the earth ? Would like to hear his thoughts (in a nice way!), earthed mine to the rear seat bolts.
  9. You need to lure 25th to this thread , he may know!
  10. think I am going to modify mine. Circuit breaker to replace fuse that is next to the battery, fuse to replace junction box in engine bay. Dragon Queen, where you getting the circuit breaker from ? Only question is, have kill switch on postive cable, should I switch to negative - advantage of it being on the positive is that it can be switched off from inside the cabin, putting it on the negative means swtiching off requires getting out and going to boot.
  11. I used 0 gauge but mainly because I got a really good deal on ebay for a length of it that was spot on You have made me want to put a fuse in now between my cable and the engine bay line. At the moment it is a junction box, so both ends on eyelets that are bolted on to that - could easily replace with a fuse box instead for some extrra security.
  12. may get a tester amount just to put a strip down and see (and yeah, can remove as needed)- will also check your thread out more splinter. that DOES sounds frikkin epic You and 25th need a bit of a 6th gen 7th gen white machine stand off my 2 favourite cars visually I'll just be the scruffy white one out accelerating you both
  13. Was going to say to kazi, red and black will work I reckon agree jas on needing more carbon bits to make it work on a white car - still thinking maybe a white wrap, not permanent then - White carbon weave wrap look a bit odd ? As I quite like that idea... Or.... Some kind of white vinyl pattern in the bonnet to make it somehow work - just fixed my Mac so can photoshop again at last !
  14. Ahh, and I do like your car, didn't realise it was carbon, looks good swayed me somewhat....as being told I would look a bit like a cardiff taxi (black cars with white bonnets!). Pay day will get some rattle cans then maybe! Liking the idea of some aspect still showing the carbon fibre, will play around with what might look good and isn't exactly the same as others! I'll rattle can it, front and rear bumper are so far done in the same way! and the wheels. not glossy enough, but will do until somepoint when I can justify spraying everything properly. Which will be god knows when!
  15. Not mad lol When I finally get my MacBook fixed, think I will photoshop some part painted looks to see. In terms of best/worst bits, the Middle would be the painted bit and the outside carbon ! Will give it a photoshop though just to see
  16. Well.... more I look it the more bits I see lol ! clearcoat seems to have rubbed away in a few areas which is more of an issue (but not really, see below), some scuff and light scratches so will give it a good polish and see, cheers condition to be honest is not my big concern, some like their cars mint, I am less bothered with that Just pretend it's "drift" damage lol. But there is some damage around the vent I have discovered, where the frame has split from the top layer. Will need to bond them back together and tidy that whole area up, fixable but will need to sort that out first now
  17. Black car and I wouldn't hesistate to keep it carbon fibre. Did look good on 25ths car, but he has other carbon bits which complement which I don't. Might be jarring on purely white car. Or could cover it in white carbon fibre wrap ???
  18. ha, yeah let's face it that's the obvious solution that I errr obviously errr considered. anyone painted their's ?
  19. Maybe this should be in another section, not sure. Anyway..... question out to the club I have recently purchased a second hand carbon fibre bonnet for my gen 6. Main reasons for buying was a lot lighter than the heavy stock, and vented, which is what I wanted. It's not in brilliant condition, but not enough for me to care that much, my car isn't so much about perfection to be honest. however - white car - am I stupid to consider painting it white, or keep it carbon fibre ? Mixed options myself, probably leave it, just fancied asking the collective
  20. Bek did moan about the clearance when doing the gearbox..... (on which note I am still sure he didn't get enough from me but hasn't answered back since he did it as was trying to sort out if it was! - too nice for his own good ) Ok, tracking question - need to get these aligned but wanted to wait a couple of weeks to see exactly what height to end up at before doing so - apart from tyre wear nothing bad is going to happen if I wait ?
  21. First attempt at the front. NOT jacked up lol. Better now
  22. Thanks, yup getting there kinda just a little lower than stock at the moment at the front, will leave to settle then revist, so just backs to do Can see the temptation to keep dropping now lol!
