  1. Cheers, down on Southampton so may actually nip up if cant find one closer!
  2. Hi, to add to my many questions.... I need longer manifold to turbo studs for my st185 manifold to ct26 turbo due to having to use a spacer between. Looking for m10 1.25 47mm+ Now... Nissan 200sx have the right ones, ordered some but delivery not arrived in time. Can visit a breakers yard tomorrow, so while I am there, anyone got any knowledge of other jap cars with a longer manifold stud I can check??!! Celica is about 37mm. Bit of a long shot! It's only if I can grab some physically tomorrow, as more are being sent in the post so don't need to order any online. Thanks if anyone has encyclopaedic knowledge...
  3. I am probably completely wrong here but don't you need stockish levels of back pressure for n/a ? Unless you muck about with air/fuel mix. i am 99% sure someone who knows what they are talking about will come on in a minute to say "what the hell..." EDIT: interesting.. http://www.tundratal...sure-myths.html talks about flow velocity as opposed to back pressure http://www.pistonhea...c.asp?t=1203932 more reading
  4. Also seems emanageblue to record the data from a wideband, from another forum Tech, I'm looking at the Greddy Emanage A/F Sensor Harness PN 15900912 and was wondering if it could be used with the Emanage Blue Piggyback unit? If so what other modifications in the software I would need if any? If not other suggestions that would allow me to log Air Fuel Ratio v. RPM without the use of a dyno? I'm at the stage now where I have the jumper settings on the unit setup correctly for my car, I have a Boomslang Plug and Play Harness, and the need support tool and software. I can't find any tuners I trust in my area. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Greddy's response. Yes, this A/F harness will work on e-manage blue and with an external wideband O2 sensor. You will have to go into parameter settings, below the section where it says memo, you will have to change it from disconnect to A/F SENSOR(0-5V). Then select confirm and to be sure I would export data. You will need the support tool for these actions.
  5. sounds like it will be a worthwhile investment, especially as mine could do with monitoring due to the junkyard nature of the turbo build. Do not want to destroy my engine after the work so far Would be good to learn actually how to do this. Turbos were a black art to me until I started researching and installing my own. Same with tuning I reckon. Only one way to learn!
  6. Thanks Chris, useful info. No idea what det cans were till googled them! Don't like paying others for something could do myself, but maybe get it tuned professionally first, then learn how to tweak/use that using a wideband. Like that one you posted up though.
  7. Hi, will soon have a 3sfte completed, wanted to gather opinions on tuning (mods, if this is better in GT4 section please move, it's just mine won't be a GT4!). Do you think it's worth getting hold of a wideband sensor to tune it myself, or is it enough of a black art to always use a tuning specialist? Will be running emanage blue, with software on laptop. A wideband is an extra expense, so if it's not that useful I won't bother.
  8. Ahhh, could well have. Have missed when topping up before!
  9. Hi When removing my ht leads one wasn't budging. When I pulled it out eventually it was melted and had sealed itself to the pipe. Turned white at top of stem part. Leads themselves where fine. Any idea why this might have been ? Sparks where all fine, pipes liked ok when removed valve cover. Got a replacement, and the rest where perfect. Just old and degraded ? Orginal I think from when it was made. Was fine last year when last changed plugs.
  10. I think the idea behind the GT86 was pretty clear, this is a fun rear wheel drive car that looks good (well, in my opinion) and is not about speed, but about handling. Of course there will be aftermarket gubbins to make them go faster, but I want one and look forward to grabbing one in 3 or 4 years:) Question is, are they going to bring out the Supra version, which seems to be the one everyone is expecting this one to be! edit: err, what johny said!
  11. Thanks, your right really, I just look on line and am blind to the real world sometimes !
  12. Am I being blind?? Was looking for longer studs for exhaust manifold, as looks like I have to add a spacer to get my turbo to clear. But can't seem to find any, I have just assumed they exist but do they ? Anyone know where to get some? Sure I will be just being oblivious.... Thanks!
  13. just this for FMIC pipe work, to go from turbo over manifold and back down before heading to intercooler.
  14. Thanks, will make sure get one that does, something that delays the air going back out you mean by forcing it around it?
  15. thanks guys, catch can it is, if there is no mot implications I don't want that going back into my system...
  16. Ok, another query If I plumbed this back in, should it go before the turbo to avoid the pressure post turbo stopping it actually escaping? If I vent it with a filter, will that be an mot fail on emissions.....? Cheers
  17. Yeah will source the right bit ! Happy that found that out before going further And something else I have learnt which is always good rather look dumb and work it out than not learn Also had fun trying to solve the issue
  18. Cool, that would help. Tried three different turbos (as kept buying them!) and all had same issue. Thinking maybe manifold is a bit different maybe... Photo would be really useful My car is actually in Southampton and I am back in Cardiff (nowhere to do the build here so using my friends drive). Only photo I have of dry fit, this was using olives as spacers. Where it hits, it's not the smaller pipe on the actuator that's an issue as can be cut back. Oh, and yes the coolant lines are in a stupid position! EDIT I don't think I have an st185 manifold....just had a moment of obviousness/stupidness, the outlet is not twin ! Which is prob why does not clear or angle correctly!!! Can you/anyone confirm? Then will ask the breakers (Have the st165 maybe?)
  19. Not sure if this link works as mobile but thinking this as the spacer http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=130851571732&siteId=3&isClassified=false
  20. That's what I'm thinking, there is going to be around 50mm space so will take a look for one
  21. That must have been fun! Measured up, the spacer concept is a good un but switching to a spacer between the manifold and turbo now, as new manifold studs would be needed, happier removing the ones from the turbo than the engine in case one breaks off. Now downpipe hits radiator fan so off to work on that one
