  1. As the last two posts, that's nearly always down to trapped gas/water in an uncured layer of paint
  2. Best bet is to charge the battery overnight and take it somewhere like Kwik Fit for a free battery discharge test, I wouldn't normally recommend them but they can't really screw that up, this will conclusively tell you if the battery is goosed or not
  3. I've just had a couple of 8" subs delivered to go in my 182 and in all fairness they seem well built, they were only £20 a piece (I've kept my expensive Vibe Blackdeath kit for the 185 build) they're a brand called "Bass Face" from Thompsons I haven't wired them in yet but will report back when I know more but for £40 delivered they seem well worth the punt
  4. If you're lucky enough to find some the livesound front door cards are a nice upgrade though
  5. The full livesound kit was a dedicated amp, 2 dash speakers, 2 door speakers, the standard 2 door mounted tweeters, the 2 in the rear quarters and the tweeters in the rear grilles above the rear strut top mounts. So the only real extras were the amp (which was pretty naff as amps go), the front door pods (which do look way better with the matching door cards) and the rear tweeters (which to be honest aren't really in the best place as far as performance goes as they should be within 6-8 inches of the rear quarter speakers according to most manufacturers)
  6. Keep it useable, don't think they look right too low anyway
  7. Just use a decent wax or sealant designed for the job, leave anything like paraffin on paintwork and I can't imagine it doing it any good
  8. Me too, as far as I know there were no revisions of the rev3 engine
  9. Hope it's something simple, if it's turning over then the coil pack would be my first thought
  10. The auction location says Malpas, are you sure it's in Truro?
  11. Before I started any bodywork I'd get it up on some ramps and make sure the underside is in good nick and there's no corrosion that can't be sorted
  12. Do a bit of research before you start, any compressor job is way easier to get a good finish than spraying from cans and metallic isn't hard to do at all, the finish of your basecoat doesn't have to be perfect so long as you get your clearcoat somewhere near then you can wet sand and polish to get a perfect finish, just start with a smaller panel first to perfect your technique I'll be doing my 185 in a 3 stage pearl and that's a different ball game altogether, and I'm not looking forward to that one bit
  13. I'd leave it and try and put enough money away to get the stuff together to spray it yourself, if you're staying with the same colour then get the paint mixed to match and do it a panel at a time and the roof and rear quarters as the last hit. It's not as expensive as you might think if you can hire a compressor and gun from anywhere Or this
  14. As Sherv says, first place to look is the tensioner and idler bearings or even the water pump has been known to squeak when the bearing's on it's way out
  15. If you're painting a flat colour or metallic I'd have a go yourself, I'm in the middle of doing my 182 and it's coming out really well I'd be a bit unsure about a pearl (which I'll be doing the 185 in) so may have a shop do that but as you say, if you do the prep and priming you can bring the price down a fair bit for just the mid, top and clearcoat
  16. They're a good mod for either na or turbo
  17. I had a hell of a job with the one that snapped the ring, the ring had got trapped in the splines and I literally had to shear the snap ring to get it off, silly design really
  18. As said above mate, They're held on by a snap ring in the end of the shaft and should knock off with a block of wood and a hammer but I've had one before that trapped the ring and was a bitch to get off and snapped the ring in the process
  19. Happy Anniversary princy!

  20. When I fitted new discs to mine a few years ago I sprayed them with a high temp lacquer to keep the oem look and that worked well, the hubs still looked new when I swapped them
  21. percentage of the value of the goods including shipping, you can work it out here
  22. That'll be seam sealer, the bane of my life at the moment Shouldn't cause any problems painting straight over it, just make sure the sealer is unbroken, if you get water in behind it it'll cause you a world of problems
