  1. My guess would be a failing voltage regulator, they're part of the alternator and not a big job http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALTERNATOR-Regulator-Toyota-Corolla-Celica-Starlet-1-3-1-5-1-6-2-0-GT-GTi-/161837098232?hash=item25ae3e24f8:g:q3EAAOxyVLNS6WkR
  2. Should be a rubber o ring from memory mate
  3. Happy 6 Anniversary princy!

  4. They are, and yes in an ideal world all bolts would be tightened to specified torque and remain in place till removed. The magnetic plugs even when fully unwound need a pull to come away from the sump hole, (at least mine does), saves buying a new sump plug and spewing all the engine oil over the road in one drop aside from the fact they're a damn good idea to collect the small metal particles floating round your engine.
  5. As at least a bit of a preventative for the future it would be a good idea to fit a magnetic sump plug, at least if it did come loose it'd still hold itself in.
  6. 9 years for me with the 182 this year I think it's 3 with the 185
  7. I'm in the other camp, I always put a thin smear of Loctite 5980 around all the mating faces of the gaskets and I've never had one leak. The fact that pretty much every 3sge/gte on the face of the planet has developed leaks at some point in their life, some a relatively short time after a fresh OE gasket replacement tells me there's improvements that can be made to get it right. There's nothing to say either way is wrong.
  8. As above, sensible money is on rocker cover gasket or maybe dizzy oil seal
  9. Have you got any plus gas?, that stuff works wonders.
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RADIATOR-INTERCOOLER-AIR-CONDENSER-FIN-STRAIGHTENER-repair-cleaner-comb-tool-/251965658954?hash=item3aaa52d74a That'll sort it out
  11. Had the telly on in the background and my other half said, "that's a nice celica". I have a look and think....I know that car, sure enough, it's club member jim7564's st205. Nice work, both on the car and in Lego
  12. The noise you're describing sounds more like caliper rattle, is there enough space between the spokes of your wheels to get your hand to the caliper?, if so, with the wheel fitted and tight put your hand through and give the caliper a shake and see if there's any play there. If so, it could be down to sticky sliders, damaged or missing pad springs/clips or even a little air in the line. As already said above, once the wheel is fitted it should clamp the disc in place, I think that noise with the wheel off might be a red herring though
  13. Sounds like a dead motor, do both doors lock off the button on the drivers door?
  14. Happy 5 Anniversary princy!

  15. I've had a Kenwood KDC BT-60u and use it pretty much the same way you do with both my old galaxy s2, my current s4 and both my kids iphones, never had any problems with any of the handsets so I'm guessing it's either your head unit or specific issues with your phone and that unit. Not much help I know
  16. It'd be the first place I'd look given what you've said
  17. It still did it with all the connections to the alarm unplugged?
  18. Actually the relay shouldn't be live with the ignition off, I take it, it has an alarm that flashes the indicators when armed/disarmed? Could well be an issue with the alarm with it having been standing
  19. I think I can say with the utmost confidence that, that's the old one There's at least 346 reasons why yours has failed
  20. Sounds like it could be an interesting car for the right money
