I asked myself the silent question when I joined up too! Worked it out when someone posted a photo of their 'vert'! I also used to wonder what people were doing when they said 'Sending you a PM mate' - the passage of time reveals all I think we should have a club Glossary of Terms (now someone's asking what's a glossary!) I'm sure there would be all sorts of phrases that could be added...

We bought the CS in 1997, so 19 years this coming April. About time it was treated to a respray There was a similar thread to this a year or so back and I know some have had their cars longer than I have! Edit - This is the last bend of the Prescott Hill Climb by the way!

Yes, I've been using it too. I've seen a number of Gen 5s recently that have obviously been on SORN (or illegal) for years before the seller suddenly puts it up for sale and waxes lyrical about it... Obviously didn't love it that much did they, or they would have been driving it

Inspired by the above, I called on the lady I mentioned in my previous post this afternoon to see how things were. I couldn't believe it - she crashed the car into some railings in January and was told the car was a write-off!! She said she very nearly rang me to say, as she still has the flyer with my name and number. I know which garage took it, so will ring them tomorrow to see what happened to it. The galling thing is, she said she thought of me often, and I drive past her house once a week (car never visible anyway). She thought perhaps it was too bad for anyone to be interested in an old car. I should have stopped before...

Oh yes - got it now! I wonder how they put that off-side dent into it! Reminds me that I know where something similar is - still being used by the elderly wife, J reg, original owner (well her husband's unitl he sadly passed away). Also has some scrapes from mis-judged parking, but not as bad as this one! Paintwork still good too. I did tell her to contact me if she decided to sell or get rid of. Might have to call by some time...

I've just looked through all 521 photos of the rebuild - amazing progression! Anyone afraid of a bit of rust should take a look and see what can be done. I love the bits hanging up on the line to spray and dry!

Doesn't that pic look as though a wide front body has been put on a narrow body car? The front wings and bumper definitely look widebody and the rest rather narrow - or is that configuration impossible because of floorpan etc?

Perhaps the only original thing on those three cars above is the number plate!
