  1. Is that Bill Allen of the old Bill Allen Toyotas fame when it used to be on Suffolk Road?
  2. Doesn't that pic look as though a wide front body has been put on a narrow body car? The front wings and bumper definitely look widebody and the rest rather narrow - or is that configuration impossible because of floorpan etc?
  3. Perhaps the only original thing on those three cars above is the number plate!
  4. Looking forward to seeing this at the next Cheltenham Prescott Meet next year!
  5. Now that's a thought - someone get together the bare bones of a good storyline to send off to get the TV Producers interested!
  6. Yes there are far more Teal cars around than people give credit for. When I last counted on the Carlos Sainz Register website, there were 21 UK Teals I seem to remember. I also know of a few that are not listed on there too, as indeed are a few other members. I really like the colour Teal too - might have one one day as a stable mate for my grey
  7. That does look very nice! Look forward to seeing more of it amongst the Gen 5s. You will need to change your avatar pic now
  8. No - 185s have contributed too
  9. So that's a thought - take your GT4 on holiday, sell it and come back in something else !! It will pay for your holiday.... (not going to do that with mine of course )
  10. This link was sent to me today which says the GT4 is considered to be seriously undervalued, given that it is a homologation car. Shame they show a Gen 6 instead of a Gen 5 , but it's a great photo! Maybe if you buy the car, you get the helicopter for free ! http://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/enthusiasts/revealed-60-seriously-undervalued-cars-that-should-be-worth-more/ss-AAfhgzB?ocid=MSN_UK_NL_MO35#image=19
  11. I do occasionally like to take the car out on a lovely day and see where I end up. I just love driving my Celica for the fun of it! Usually keep a look out for a nice spot as a photo opportunity, or make a mental note to go back when there's more time or a dramatic sky. Taking your car out gives a tremendous feel-good factor
  12. It was the first thing that crossed my mind! Best put an alert in Gen 7 Forum
  13. I see that 7 has your initials on it!
  14. ?? what is 'snap' tin - a tuck box equivalent?? I read the above too quickly and thought you were having a cat flap degreased !
  15. How come you got another pen?!! I only got one first time round I'm interested to see what twinkly man lights look like
  16. You'll have to come to the next Cheltenham meet and see it in the flesh
  17. What, mine?? Hooray - at least someone ellse likes it besides me . Most of the Gen 5 guys, especially the ones who also have CS's, tend to prefer the white ones or red ones. Thank you!!
  18. The hands did the talking instead of the head then
  19. I think you need some handcream on those hands!
  20. I received my programme and final instructions for my Prescott Hill Climb Drivers' School day, which is coming up soon! It includes maps and driving lines for the various hairpins and bends - my stomach lurched slightly, but I'm telling myself I can do this Having read it all carefully, it seems we won't be timed but awarded marks for tidiness of lines, car control and consistency. Raggedness and inappropriate speed will impair our marks. Can't wait!
  21. Mine was on SORN for 3yrs, 1 of which was just standing outside. Amazing how a good pressure hose down cleans them up well - a real testament to Toyota paintwork. Under my bonnet I had loads of leaves and moss growing along the outside edge of the window base! Inside though was perfectly dry - no evidence of mould. Nothing a good hoover couldn't sort (including under the bonnet for the leaves )
  22. ^^^ above well said! There is a lot to be said for having a blank canvas if you want to make something that is individual to you. Judging by the variety of Gen 7s I have now seen in the flesh, that is certainly the case amongst members. Of course, that option is not to everyone's taste, and some of us like original specs because that is what it is - original and classic.
  23. I do remember when the Gen 7 came out we went down to the Toyota dealership to take a look at both a Gen 6 and Gen 7 - possibly with a view to a future trade-in. The thing that struck me most at the time was how cheap and plasticky the plastic bits felt and looked. I remember thinking knowing my luck, the children would break, crack and snap bits! I had a bit of an argument with the salesman saying how could that model be better than my 5? As has been said, it was s sign of the times when manufacturers started to use cheaper materials to keep costs down. Fortunately, I kept my 5.
  24. I think they look great on digs' car - but I wouldn't want them on my Gen 5! I think the car colour plays a part too. I see Paulus3476 is putting temptation your way
