  1. Nothing better than nice beading on a freshly wax'd car. Theres loads of decent wax's out there - some are colourcharged - I'm not sure if they have a massive difference on the finish. I used Chemical Guys 50/50 on my mates black Golf and it looked superb afterwards. It's quite an oily wax and leaves a 'wet' finish. Chemical guys Black hole + V7 is a good choice of Sealant and protection. Very very shiney. Dodo Juice do colourcharged wax's and they have an excellent reputation. I've used a couple with excellent results.
  2. PJS Auto's Crossfield Industrial Estate, Lichfield - 01543 411334 / 411339 - Speak to Mark! He is a decent spanner monkey. Hope your well Fab!
  3. I've got hammerite on mine. Still look perfect after a year.
  4. Why have beef burger when you can have steak.
  5. Your better off going to a reputable local garage than Toyota. It'll be much cheaper than that!
  6. I looked at doing this with a SS3 beams I saw a year or so ago. Rang the DVLA who were useless and kept telling me conflicting stories! It was a while ago when I looked so I may have a few details wrong but it went something like... You need to insure it via the VIN on the chassis. Go to Ireland, collect the car (making sure it has irish tax still) Bring it over the port. From here you can't legally drive it without British Tax and MOT (although it's a grey area from speaking to the DVLA) Get the car towed from the port to your home and organize some kind of vehicle check test with the DVLA (I'm guessing it's like a stricter MOT) The car then needs registering with the DVLA and Taxing (you have to go to a DVLA office to do this) It basically was going to cost me a lot of money, so I didn't bother and bought a GT-Four.
  7. I'm sure if its declared scrap. You can't do anything about it. Just strip for parts.
  8. Thats very near to Ian. He should pop and have a look. Might be some bits he can use on his red 165.
  9. I like dogs. Biscuit will never lose his place. The daft little thing.
  10. No problem Fab. Was nice to meet you again. Glad your recovering well and fingers crossed you can take us for a drive next time. You also have a brilliant dog.
  11. I wouldn't even want to know the price. The standard 1994 Automatic GT they have on their site is £9700.
  12. Autosmart G101 Cheap and very effective. Can be diluted with water and will last you ages and ages. Perfect for wheels, arches, engine bays etc.. etc.. etc... To remove the tar a dedicated tar remover is easiest - Speak to Hou on here, i'm sure he'll sort something out for you. Autobrite do a very good one which im sure he sells. There is also Autosmart Tardis which is decent. Alternatively, if you have any white spirit, dab that onto a cloth and rub the tar, just make sure you test it on an area of your wheels to make sure it won't stain/cause problems then give it a VERY good rinse afterwards.
  13. Yep! Bloody wind. I find the easiest way to dry the car is using a open ended hose pipe! If the car is well sealed/wax'd you can push most of the water off with a open ended hose. Then the last drops of water can be 'dabbed' with a decent fluffy dying towel. No scratches, swirls or marks then.
  14. My mate had a pioneer one in his Mr2 and it was sound. Sounded nice.
  15. http://www.one2car.com/TOYOTA_CELICA/D08100521 :D
  16. Autosmart tardis will take it off as someone has posted but white spirit is very very similar! Just dab it on with a cloth and it should come off much easier. Plus you can get it much easier.
  17. You could use a decent APC. Autosmart G101 is good, £16 for 5 litres but will dilute up to 1:40. You can use in on exteriors, interiors, arches etc.. etc... Or speak to Hou on here, he should stock a good APC. For plastics you onlu need a very weak solution and it'll get rid of most crud easily.
  18. Jimmylegs is in the market for a Gen5! If you were going to sell it I couldn't think of a better person to keep your pride and joy in perfect condition!
  19. Really sorry to hear this my friend That's terrible news! As you know I'm not too far away and I'm more than happy to take you out. I'd need to check with my insurance but I think my fully comp policy allows me to drive other cars. I'll even happerly give it a clean and polish for you as I remember how much you cared for it. Hope you make a speedy recovery.
  20. Jet wash is needed really! You could get a Nifilk one which are decent quality for around £60. Snow Foam lance - http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/foam-lance-by-autobrite-various-connections-305-p.asp Then Snow Foam - http://www.ninjashine.co.uk/presta/en/66-purple-peardrop-super-snow-foam.html Depends how dirty your car is really, sometimes it needs a quick shampoo, other times a snow foam and jet wash is enough!
  21. Me and Jimmy quite like white ones too.
