  1. Pour it in at the oil cap - simples. But if your engine is burning through a fair amount of oil then this stuff will be burnt off too - could be costly to stay smoke/soot free! (but ideal if you were an unscrupulous muppet passing off a motor with a gubbed engine to some poor unsuspecting soul - that's about the only application that i can see this being developed for )
  2. Don't think it'll work in diesel But do know it stopped an old 16v golf I had billowing smoke - didn't stop it drinking oil but did stop the smoke. I knew the engine was pretty goosed so didn't care about what mischief the stop smoke elixir may be getting up to inside the cars heart
  3. You used to be able to get "stop smoke" additive ( might've been from Wynns) that you could bung in your oil which would calm a smoky engine down. BUT I've no idea how that would be affecting the internals of your engine so I'm not recommending you look for it / try it. Edit - quick search produced this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&productId=195469&categoryId=255221&langId=-1
  4. If the paint is thick enough then yes, just a light sand with 2000/2500 to smooth and key the surface, wipe down with something to remove all dust/grease/residue then laquer. Be sure it's dry and warm where you're laquering as it can "bloom" and go cloudy with too much moisture/cold about. Once you've finished laquering let it cure for a good few days - don't worry if the finish isn't perfect. Once it's cured give it a hit with rubbing compound then a t-cut it'll be like a mirror
  5. Best tuner nuts i've had were chromed steel ones from driftworks - of course then i stupidly sold them on after buying red ones from ebay that look like a pile of shite now
  6. Rather than having modified your car by fitting the exhaust for increased power are you sure you didn't fit a freer flowing exhaust system to make your vehicle more fuel efficient? A stretch I admit but, well, you know
  7. size smaller socket (not a hex) hammered on, after copious amounts of wd40 sprayed onto the offending bolt????
  8. Been thinking about this and done nothing more than confuse the hell out of myself - On a Gen7 does the oil go from the core of the oil filter outwards then back into the engine or from the outside through the filter material and then upwards from the core into the engine?
  9. Most TDi's with a remap are bloody quick - just fitted a diesel tuning box to my old mans 330 diesel 3 series and it's a rocket ship, not that it was much of a slouch before though
  10. I just painted anywhere visible - left the areas where the retaining pins go through the calipers. If I remember right I've not done the rear faces lol
  11. Just be sure and give the new calipers a good blast with brake cleaner to remove any oil it grease on the surfaces and any paint you use will get a good clean surface to stick too. All in the preparation
  12. I'm with Kev on this one - managed to clatter my wheel off the caliper once or twice. It's more likely as the calipers and discs are larger therefore nearer the wheel!
  13. Same as yourself, passed and with flying colours - but it's a family friends business I go to so its more a chance for meh to give my motor the once over than anything official lol
  14. I bought my sierra cosworth without insuring it - but it was from a very good friend who brought it round and drove my golf GTi away. Then I realised what a complete nightmare it was to try and insure and the car set in the driveway for a week before I found anyone that'd insure it at a price I could afford ( I was 22 and the car was 350bhp )
  15. They may look older but with a retrim to update them . . . .
  16. Knew the seven couldn't be that lardy arsed - would be like driving a sticky toffee pudding rather than a nimble sports coupe
  17. He seems to have his wires a little crossed - think he's crossed them with a mars bar and a bag of strong nonprescription hallucinogenic substance . . . .
  18. I just used the power to weight ratio on the battle link you posted and Wikipedia 1185kg is the weight of the car in your link - 1585kg is the maximum permissible weight the car can carry lol
  19. Wow, i always figured the Gen7 to be a shedload lighter than that. Edit - from what i can find the Gen7 is 1,100kg for a 140 and 1,248kg for a 190/TS . . . . . .
  20. I got Mook to make mine up so they fitted on the inside - after an unfortunate frost/scraper incident I kinda lost some lettering on the originals
  21. for the courier to put flat spots on the rim they'd have had to given each of the rims one hell of a drop - would've destroyed the cardboard box they came in for sure. i'm guessing the cardboard boxes are still box shaped end of the day you are due a full refund and should not be left out of pocket in any way ( re return costs) as the goods sold were unfit for purpose under the sales of goods act - oh and as for checking them by eye as the point of delivery, most flat spots are only really apparent once the wheel is put on a balancing machine which i'm pretty sure you don't have one of those located in your hallway for just this kind of happenstance. Take the scamming seller to task - stick to your guns and you'll not be out of pocket.
  22. In the impreza, MR2 or FTO almost always got some form of acknowledgement from other drivers/owners - in the Gen7 it's usually the "who the f**k are you" look that gets returned - LOL
  23. Not got a "new" sound clip right now but found this - also a pic of how it looks on the car - Ignore the end bit where it revs a little high
  24. Blitz NUR Spec S will give you the nice rich sound you are after without the chavish boom or rip - and your 140 won't be going to the "darkside" 6,200rpm+ so will never be too "in your face" for you. If i can i'll grab a sound clip of mine when i get home tonight - will keep the revs down so as to give you an accurate representation
