ESTHAR_CITY
So might be a bit of a dumb question but... Im re spraying all my engine plastics and ive just took the plactic cover of the top of the engine and I want to give it a clean before it goes back on. so what do I use to clean the engine block up? ive herd sand paper but that will scratch it all up right? Gstraw
Yeah dpends what grade you use. A fine one will polish it. Maybe try autosol metal polish?

gen7nnb
The smaller the number, the harsher the grade, I went from 800 up with mine, them autosol.

Zorg
Engine cleaner very strong stuff. Spray, Toothbrush, Rinse. You did say engine block right?!
dublet
I use Autoglym's engine cleaner on my bike's gears. Gets rid of all of the persistent grime. Lovely.
ESTHAR_CITY
Well I think that's what its called, the top of the engine that's visible that has the plastic cover on top with the Toyota symbol
jasonskyring
The rocker cover easiest way is to paint it as to polish it will take a lot of elbow grease mate. I'd take it off the car, plug up all the holes, clean it, quick once over with sandpaper, primer then paint it

gen7nnb
That will be the cylinder head, just use engine cleaner and a brush as previously said. Lot of work though.

gen7nnb
I know what you mean mate, I think you should post a photo though so we know for sure which part you mean. I will be doing a major clean on mine whilst I have most of the engine out, easier to get to then!
