My old Gen7 has a cable tie in one of the suspension struts somewhere. The specific part wasn't under any stress but it has a cable tie in there all the same! Oh and the power streering cooling pipe leaked and I chopped out the leaky pipe and put a hose from a washing machine in to bridge the gap. Did the job and never leaked again

This sounds just like the problems I was having with my Saab, stalling out when stopping and I had that shuddering on the brakes once. Gave up with it in the end as nothing I did fixed it!

I wouldn't completely rule out that code. If it's a lambda/o2 sensor playing up then the car could be fuelling wrong and a car fuels differently when cold compared to when hot. That could explain the kangerooing when cold if the car isn't fuelling right.
