The Celica is now sold. Sorry to see it go but it has gone to another club member so I know it will be looked after. Now driving a Mercedes C Class AMG Sport Plus .

I've owned my Celica since November 2006 and been a (fairly inactive) member of CCUK since April 2007 - when a dodgy brake light switch prompted me to search on-line for assistance!

It's been said before by others but I've never found another car club site which has proved as useful or has more members who are willing to offer advice than CCUK.

About me
By day I'm a civil engineer. At weekends I seem to be a full time handy-man, always painting, digging or assembling something round the house. Also a full time dad. (Yes, a child seat can be fitted in the back of a Gen 7!).

The Celica
After a long search all over central Scotland for the right Celica, the one I bought belonged to someone my Dad knows at his golf club and it was the best I'd seen. The mods took a while to get started - about five years in fact.

To date I've added the full Dynamic body kit (the car was spoilerless until November 2012), custom Mook dials and a leather armrest cover coutresy of Mondo. Recently I've also added a custom Longlife exhaust, tinted rear windows, had it lowered on Eibachs and changed the climate control leds to blue.

Previous motors:

• 1985 VW Scirocco GTS - bought in 1993, sold in 2010. Gives an idea of how much I liked that car! Sadly it had to go when I could no longer throw money at the underside rust...
• 1990 Lotus Esprit Turbo - owned briefly from 2002 to 2004 as a weekend toy. Beautiful to look at and very, very fast but I spent more time lying underneath it - cursing - than driving it.
• 1998 Mazda 323F - cheap and reliable mode of transport bought in 2004 and owned for two years. Nice enough to drive but slow. Sold it, bought the Celica and never looked back!
