  1. nope- IIRC GT4 ones are side feed and 202's (and all other FWD celi's) are rear feed, so the shape of the injectors / fuel rails are totally different. I'm not saying they wouldn't fit without adapting them, but they certainly wouldnt pop straight on.
  2. don't be daft mate it's all good yep it'll be the complete opposite to a soop if you're used to FWD, 4WD grip must be very confidence inducing GTR or Golf?
  3. pah, i find a celica owner over on supra club, try to help, nip on here and look what's happened nah mate hats off, i too strive to own a FAFF (well, ideally a crate or sick but i don't like rust) one day, just to get the different driving experience with 4WD. I have been out on track in one and my god, what a vehicle i went from FWD with the celica / yaris to RWD with the soop, and when the time comes for the switch to try 4WD i really won't be looking anywhere else good luck with the search, hope you find a nice clean one
  4. known as "european brake chewers" in my social circle! ..............having said that on track I've ran EBC sport discs, redstuff pads, yellowstuff pads, and EBC black pads on a gen2 road car- all without a hitch. Currently running EBC yellow on my track car, considerably cheaper than competitors pads (porterfield, CW). the nickname came from about 10 years ago when a mate who used brand new brembo discs with EBC green pads- after a few months use the pads had cracked the discs.
  5. dunno if its any use but i make up magnetic backed stickers for when on track. could easily make what you describe with that perhaps. Most of the logos are vinyl so would normally use the colour of the paint as a background- so i buy a similar colour vinyl and cover the magnetic backing in that first before the logo goes on. It's not a prefect match but OK from a distance. just a thought, not sure if its any use for this application. the stickers in this pic are all magnetic inc the door squares. the javelin, fensport and toyota ones are done using just normal silver vinyl
  6. i use TOM's alloys on my yaris (bought them for track use) and they are very light but very very strong- construction on the ones I have look like forged rims with cast centres. if you plan to refurbish them to make a profit i wouldn't bother TBH- unless you can find the right buyer it wouldnt be worth the effort / cost involved- just sell them a is. if they are for your own car then go for it
  7. perhaps a wise move brian remember the conversation we had about this on the phone before xmas- remember my yaris put out 67 BHP and although that was awesome in the wet with R888's on (to the extent i stopped taking wets to the track with me) a powerful RWD car would be totally different
  8. i'm hoping to go to the blyton club day too, if that happens then there will be at least one idiot on track
  9. i bet the insurance will be cheaper too- my 1.0 yaris probably doesnt have one piece of suspension left that it came with from the factory! so lots of mods listed. Its £400 a year fully comp unlimited mileage all mods declared- which for a 998cc is expensive that's for sure. but when i need to to it does up to 60 mpg (68.7 is my record, engine is stock), and on 15-20K a year i'm afraid the economy has a large bearing on the decision. also my budget to buy is incredibly tight so if i bought a dog i'd also be in the sh!t- sometimes its just better the devil you know. one day, though
  10. i'd love that. never knew about the 7AFE engine!!!!! i've been recommending that model to my mate aswell who used to have a GT................ wowzers
  11. thanks man i miss them both very very much- but know where they both live if i'm ever tempted for a buy back PS you're not on your own thinking about a gen 7 as an everyday car. i'd love a stock 140 myself, was weighing up one of those or a yaris t sport before xmas
  12. thats a bonus times have changed! glad you found that out though mate before you got the idea in your head of buying one. Saying that back in the day i had 2 full on policies, unrestricted. Now I have unlimited mileage on my daily and 5000 on my track car (ironically one policy with flux one with greenlight ) enjoy owning two celicas you lucky, lucky man, I did too very briefly: now i have none
  13. if you plan to use both cars at the same time, do you have 2 insurance policies already? if not something to bear in mind is that you will have zero no claims if you take one out. claims transfer across (IE if you've had an accident in the last 5 years etc) but no claims doesn't. I was close to buying a mates 1600 astra back before i got a second policy and it was more than my celica which I had max no claims on, so ended up with a 1.0 micra. Just something to bear in mind if you've not looked into it.
  14. I use a 17 year old 1 ton jack i bought when i got my first car. it was £9.99 from regor (old cash and carry for car parts type place) and still works a treat, just have to top up the cylinder with brake fluid every couple of years cos it seeps. for lowered cars i drive up onto 2" thick hardwood offcuts, then jack it. most of the methods are safe if you axle stand or solidly support the car. Remember a jack is for getting it high up to support with something else, not to support the vehicle whilst you work on it. as for the rating my 1 ton has never given me any bother, half a supra is about 800kgs- i;ve never tried to lift it all at the same time serratia i like the look of the one you have- that LED idea is superb, never seen that before.
  15. makes sense once supras used no celica bits in the 70 series. nice one its the feeling i get running through me every time i get into my track car
  16. ha ha thats a none petrol head statement if ever I heard one! my gen 5 had 85K on the clock with no history (seller claimed it had been stolen) when i bought it Eventually it ended up being my track car, so redlined for a high percentage of its miles! When it finally got an "issue" with getting too hot (failing waterpump or headgasket) it was time for me to move on anyway so sold it with the fault and it had 154K on the clock. I even had it rolling roaded with 133K on the clock and it came out at 159 BHP (5 more than stock with mild mods) I just used decent semi synthetic oil and a toyota filter every 3K miles without fail or at least twice a year when in track use, and it was superb. Infact the bloke who bought it off me has had the headgasket and waterpump done and it should be back out sprinting in 2013.
  17. so true. unless you are doing a track day every couple of weeks then it won't like the lack of use. i use my track car once a week for work at least when its not being worked on, just to keep the "juices flowing" so to speak. ignore any modification whatsoever until you've uprated the brake fluid. FIRST thing that should be done IMHO (as long as the car is mechanically sound of course)
  18. interesting graham, does that include ma4X and MA6X?
  19. Happy Anniversary Dan_Q!

  20. old skool dan swears by copper cored NGK's........ but on my current cars I run NGK iridiums in one because half the engine has to come off to get to them, and NGK's arent available off the shelf for the other so I use denso or bosch super 4 copper cored in that
  21. i bet brian my st182 was the best snow car ever- heavy, lowered with splitters. got caught in a blizzard out in the sticks once and the splitters acted like a snow plough- it was superb! even though i've lots to do to my car over the winter its too cold out there- was in the garage with the heater on for 3 hours the other night, couldnt feel my feet after half an hour and my hands despite them being used were numb after 90 mins........ struggled to get anything done!!!
  22. i've treated myself to this shell: and a new unbuilt TT01E chassis to go with it. everything i need to make a minime
  23. well done lads, good to get a bit of publicity there no pics of me or the shed- thats a good thing
  24. its for sale now the GT86 has arrived. put an offer in mate
  25. Becci & Derek, Thanks for posting up- i was amazed too that a year had passed, when i found out on facebook thanks to Dawn (Cheers chick xx). He still continues to inspire me. On the 25th when i had finished all my housework, and decided that I "couldn't be bothered" to go in the garage for an hour or two, i logged onto facebook and saw the news. So, after a small tribute status to the great man, I went straight into the garage and finished the seat riser brackets i was part way through making for my celica! He is still helping me along. I keep meaning to finish some small aesthetics on my celica and take a picture, an idea blatantly stolen from another member on here (carlb) but a fitting tribute none the less. Take care, and I hope in some small way this year will be at least a little easier for you and the rest of the family xx
