  1. I think they mean between the clear plastic and the reflective layer at the back? I know what you're on about though
  2. Dunno how much Halfords charge but I got a plain perpex pair for £13 at a local place. They do actually make the plates themselves though
  3. Yea, and use proper sticky pads to fix them on, don't drill and bolt them on
  4. Its a strange one, be interesting to see what it actually sells for. My thinking is its too much to pay if you're wanting a driver, and people are hardly queing up to pay top money to add low mileage gen 7 celicas of any kind to their private collections or motor museums. Lock it away for 10 years then maybe collectors will pay that money by then for mint low milers? I could be wrong tho!
  5. I'll keep an eye out for sure, but will probably end up getting them done as I'm a bit of a perfectionist, unfortunately!
  6. Cheers all. Looks like refurbing the alloys will cost more than I paid for the car. Lol
  7. I take a look next time I'm on the PC. Who is that? Thanks
  8. Hi. I've had a quote from somewhere to refurbish the standard gen6 diamond cut alloys. They're 15 inch. They will blast, powdercoat, re cut and lacquer them and have stated a cost of 100 plus vat per wheel. seems steep to me but they are local so i won't have to courier the wheels or anything, and they will remove and refit tyres and balance the wheels for that. They're also meant to do a good job. I was hoping for more like 80 - 90 though tbh. Am I just being tight?!
  9. Gold will look good but I think it has to be some sort of satin finish to look proper
  10. Lightweight alloy fasteners of any kind are a nightmare. Round off easy as anything and corrode really fast. I change some oem to stainless steel depending what they are but that's all. Avoid!
  11. The best hi temp paint I've found is the PJ1 range. Goes on easy straight to metal and leaves a lovely factory looking finish. Not many stockists now tho so get mine off eBay. It's brilliant stuff for engine bay brackets and stuff. Will be doing some of mine in next few days
  12. Just wondering, has anyone ever contacted toyota to request things like manufacture date, build sheet, details of factory fitted options etc? Had anything useful back? Had to pay an administration fee? It's general, but im talking from a gen6 point of view personally. I'm fine with drafting a letter etc, but wondered if anyone has already tried it ta
  13. They only belong on the rear windows of 70s cars imo, where they look great, nowhere else
  14. Didn't make sense to me, the item was cheap anyway, plus it had free postage, so why use and pay to post a big box. Weird. I had to re arrange delivery too, as I was out at the time. All for some sidelight bulbs!
  15. A really big box. Hmmm wonder what this could be, not ordered anything big. WTF. Lol
