  1. That Meguiars Gold Class shampoo looks empty unless you have already tried it I bought the same stuff a few weeks ago and the bottle I got was full to the top, great stuff though leaves the car with a great streak free finish and smells very nice.
  2. My front and rear RT strut braces from Keef-b well packaged and quickly posted and delivered will wait until after my trip to the lakes to fit it as need space for luggage
  3. Think your right its been taken off the UK market my mistake thought it was still around for road use.
  4. You could always go for BP Ultimate 102 at £2.42/liter seems to be service stations mainly down South selling this stuff.
  5. I think that is what I said if I press the throttle the same with higher octane I should get more speed/acceleration or similarly the same with less pedal travel i.e. less fuel. and as for driving sedately that is how I normally drive.
  6. I would disagree slightly about the economy and driving style, I would presume if you don't maintain the same style ("driving miss daisy in my case") then how can you compare fuel efficiency. If as you put it my right foot goes to a position to give me the speed/acceleration I need then if the octane is higher I should either get to the speed I want with less foot travel or for less time or go faster. If the higher octane fuel burns more efficiently then would the engine not give the same output for less fuel isn't that the whole economy argument "more or the same for less"! Compare it to a fire, burn wood (low energy efficiency) need more wood to heat the fire, use coal (higher energy efficiency concentrated carbon form) need less volume to produce similar heat outputs.
  7. I filled up 3 times with 99 octane petrol, mostly Shell but BP when I couldn't get Shell VPower. Before this I just used Tesco or BP 95 or the cheapest available, and managed around 32-33mpg general normal driving, same trips or style of driving most of the time. I reset or powered down my ECU after filling with 99 to let it re-learn and surprisingly managed 32-33mpg on average across all 3 tanks of fuel, I cant say I noticed the car drove any better or performance improved (don't drive it hard so difficult to tell). Went back to Tesco 95 for the last two tanks (almost empty on filling 50-55l) and get the same mpg as before and this time I didn't reset the ECU so it either learns from the knock sensor or doesn't make a difference. So in my case spending around 8p/liter more earned me no more mpg and no noticeable performance increase, I will not argue that the Shell and BP petrol is better quality and probably help keep the engine clean internally but think I will stick to the lower price per liter fuel even if it is from Shell or a well know maker rather than the supermarket.
  8. Just take the rear spacers off then at least it wont catch on the arch and you can wait until the right time to either buy new tyres, new spacers or have the arches rolled.
  9. 5l plus 1l and a carrying pouch of Shell Helix ECT 5w30 from Opie Oils Mann air filter, oil filter and pollen filter from ECP Just waiting for the Denso spark plugs to arrive then service time Plugs arrived Wednesday so just need time to do service now
  10. I had exactly the same issue they sent an email asking if I was happy with the parts and service, I replied that it had not yet arrived and they did respond with an apology and details of when the item was dispatched and due to arrive and it did arrive when they said but definitely "cart before the horse"
  11. And if you cool it quickly in water it makes no difference to the annealing process but stops the copper anodizing up while it cools, you can do the same for Aluminum washers as well same process but harder to judge when hot enough.
  12. The rubber boot catches from Burrows Toyota £17 for the pair hope the rain stops so I can get them fitted
  13. I bought the primer, Silver and lacquer from Eurocarparts when they had a deal on at the time I probably got enough paint for four wheels for the price of what it would have cost me for one wheel from Halfords, but the deals need to be on for it to work out and although it worked out much cheaper I still bought too much so now have enough to redo the wheels another 3 times, better quality paint goes further, seems easier to apply and certainly has a better finish.
  14. You could be right now I have re-read your message the TSport centers have the plastic bit to fit into the wheels and then a disc on top with the logo on, didn't look like it would have come off though without damaging it but probably was a two piece affair as the fronts were alloy and the rears plastic.
  15. I found when doing my wheels that cheaper (Halfords own) lacquer would always leave a rough finish unless applied as a really wet coat (not easy on a body panel if vertical) but I used some better quality (more expensive) clear lacquer to finish the wheels off and much better probably worked out cheaper as it took less paint to get the effect I wanted and much less rubbing down.
  16. My TSport ones were one piece with raised TS on the surface and the remains of the graphics on top of that but certainly one piece which needed to be sanded to get the old graphic and lacquer off prior to the new ones going on
  17. I notice the instrument cluster is not standard has this been fitted long? Could it be a bad contact after fitting the cluster?
  18. My TSport is my daily driver so whatever miles I put on it would be the same regardless of what car it was, I probably do less than 5000miles per year but I see that as a positive not negative. I just enjoy whatever miles I drive in it and I know I am bored driving a more modern car (actually consider the Celica as a modern car compared to my previous ones)
  19. Mine do exactly the same when I first switch them on they are bright then after a few seconds with no change in engine speed, revs or anything else they dim slightly as you mention almost like a load resistor has operated.
  20. Replacement boot struts from SGS Engineering, hopefully the weather warms up so I can get them fitted and no more boot dropping on my back!!
  21. Makes my mind up, might get a K&N panel filter to save on maintenance but no CAI, SRI, for me as not likely to go near the track and wont be of benefit except for the noise.
  22. I used to run Porsches and they tended to get laid up for the Winter, I used a room dehumidifier to keep the interior dry obviously with a mains supply but remember if you leave it for more than a few days it is best to get one with a piped condensation outlet (piped to the outside) or the reservoir overflows and soaks the car, ask me how I know this!!
  23. You could also try a car cover or at least a short one that covers the soft top easy to fit and remove and should stop any leaking through the roof or window seals.
  24. Mintex front vented discs for my T Sport, standard not drilled just went for the normal option as the old ones worked fine for me and as the old ones are hardly worn just rusty in the vents seemed a waste. Replacement pads for the front and rears also arrived (Mintex standard road) in time for the weekend. Mintex 275mm front discs MDC1874 £38 inc P&P Mintex MDB2291 front pads £18.72 MDB2014 rear pads £18.45 Didn't bother with rear discs as the originals are fine, no wear, no rust so at the weekend brakes done, clean and lube the caliper slider pins ready for Winter for less than £76
  25. Now I do like the look of that be interested to see it on when your car is clean and maybe hear what it sounds like, trying to decide on one for mine but don't want that low booming effect, from what I have seen and heard the HKS silent power ones sound nice, probably not loud enough for some but great for me!
