  1. Thanks Kev 3 for price of one on fully synth 5/30 will keep BB and the MX5 sorted for a while. FTO just been done and eldest horse, sorry son, can be lead to bargain but not made to drink!
  2. You will be fine! Fully synth is generally for higher performance stuff, lasts better etc but not worth the extra price for normal motoring. Mazda site I checked recommended it (semi) for sons 2.5 MX5 but then puts fully synth as an upgrade so why not recommend it in the 1st place? Reputed to burn off a bit quick on high mileage cars but the TSport and MX5 both sub 70 k and the FTO on fully synth now so I'm going "fully". Doesn't mean its right for someone elses motoring though. Overall damn sight more important to keep it fresh rather that stress out over fully or semi in a bog standard gen 7. Hence did a full change 200 miles after I bought it and looking to flush it again 2500 miles later. At a tenner a pop rude not to as she's a keeper best short explanation I can find for you.... taking into account its Shell flogging fully synth of course http://www.shell.co.uk/gbr/products-services/on-the-road/consumer-lubricants-tpkg/cars/how-oil-works/synthetic-oil.html
  3. Succinct as ever Dubs! Seems to be a bit more to it than that depending on engine age / wear but overall yup, I agree and off to buy a job lot
  4. any advantage with fully synth as its all one price?
  5. Should be ok. Opinions elsewhere is only need 5/40 for track use and whilst I use lift regularly it's seconds not minutes so 5/30 semi synth seems all round ok for the 3 motors, but then again if you can extra protection for nowt...... Halfords site recommends mineral oil for non injection cars for FTO. Bolleaux to that! Beware! Seems to be about 4.5 litres to do a change. I'll be buying bulk for free delivery unless it's available in store on the way home tonight!
  6. oooooo! How much required for a TSport change please? . . arrghh just checked link. too many choices. Which is it for road use but where lift frequently engaged please guys? . . 5.40 fully synth? . and what grade for an mx5 1.8 and an FTO GP? at those prices it would be rude not to buy for all 3!!! . Halfords checker says 5/30 part synth for mine andthe mx5 but 15/40 mineral for the FTO but thats an oil for non injected motors!
  7. I was going to put up pics of lots of german gentlemen but I thought that may have been too obtuse. That & C&P'ing from google to here is beyong me/my computers ken.
  8. hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands hands Better now?
  9. seen various cars painted matte black. don't understand. look awful. son got satin black wheels for his cougar v6. liked them for 24 hours then hated them till he sold it!
  10. I think they are a good match for Geraints pads actually
  11. Dublet talking in reverse anywhere in the vicinity should cause sufficent backdraft to clear most things
  12. Yeah Give em a capstan full strength and paint the car the colour of the result. Now that would be unique!
  13. or as they were "feeling blue" perhaps this is where storm blue originated?
  14. I know merc do a nice black with a hit of red , and black with a hint of green I suspect it ran over a frog
  15. +1. Surprise, surprise! Anything really dark needs to be kept up to scratch, so to speak. They do look really good waxed and glinting in the sun though.
  16. just not pink, please god not pink.............
  17. I was actually referring to gen 7 GT. The R34s are monster motors but really have a face only a visually impaired mother could love! A chiseled brick with lights at each corner. Volvo on steroids.
  18. oooo yeah DEFF! Love to see a photoshop GT in burgundy yum
  19. So we are all in agreement then. In that our "Tastes" are all unique. Go on Owain, you are clearly proud of your heritage so lets see a combination of Daffy yellow, leek green, and a sheepskin interior? Not quite sure where the dragon will go tho! Cheers for rugby team, you may want to get a Lion in there too!
  20. Looks sweet, but I would just lose the key and look a right 'nob crying in the gutter with a flat. Brings back horror memories of being stuck in the peeing rain on the hard shoulder of the M4 with a flat on an audi and bleeding knuckles from trying to fit the spare which I discovered was from another audi but one with fractionally different stud spacing. Unhappy bunny! £100 quid 20 years ago hurt!
  21. pale blue a bit powder puff, yellow too close to stock. Orange and green quite nice but been done. If you are going bold then maybe black or a deep blue / red with metallick gold / silver fleck with bonnet centre stripe in the fleck colour, like the Lizerd photo above, but possibly going full length of car? Just avoid making it look like a fag packet or Jon'll sue you for breach of copyright!
  22. all that walking must be keeping you fit G? Not long now bud
  23. almost shamed for buying 10 quid copy, but I wanted a blue one!!! lol
