  1. G3, Meguiars PlastX, or T-Cut will all help
  2. Not that shiny mind. They should be like this: Mine have gone back to this: See what I mean? They're not my actual photos, but they resemble them!
  3. I'm just about to buy some Gliptone Leather Cleaner & Conditioner. I've heard it can make the leather return to its new matte state. But before I do, has anyone tried anything that they know works? My leather's quite shiny and I'm dying to get the matte finish back into it. I hate shiny leather... Cheers guys.
  4. Yup! Even my old mk1 Saxo had magnetic ones with a light... I'm pretty sure you can - I'll ask ams for some facelift ones when I get paid lol.
  5. OH! In that case: The velcro pull-down mirror flaps on the sun visors (on the pre-face lift 7's). Clearly an after thought.
  6. That's crazy work. Mind you, if the whole center console was trimmed in leather with stitching around the edges (purely for aesthetics), I can't imagine how incredible that would look.
  7. Well there's one thing that's to be taught here. If Mondo says it'll look bad, it'll look bad. I did wonder what a leather one would look like but again, sounds like a pain!
  8. ^^ This. Seriously tempted to go to a scrap yard, buy a spare center console and try it.
  9. Wonder what a flocked center console would look like in regards to fitting in with the rest of the plastic. Anyone with pics?
  10. Hmm, I'll have to see if I can dig it up. Just wondering what would be needed, I don't want to go ahead and buy the wheel if I can't fit it :/
  11. Lol! Well with the controls, I'm fine with not having those working - I didn't expect them to, but it's not possible to get the air bag working?
  12. I see what you mean mate, but I love that wheel, end of XD Does anyone know how to do this?
  13. Saw this guys TRD wheel with a custom wrap: I love it, but they're expensive. How hard is it to interchange a steering wheel from... say an Auris or a Yaris? Like one of these: I can get my hands on one, and there's a guy who's done it to an MR2 here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?280906-Are-toyota-steering-wheels-interchangeable Anyone got any experience on doing this?
  14. Always wondered this too, for a small lump of metal it's strange that they're so expensive.
  15. If you haven't got them, you don't need them. If you have got them, they must work. That's what it currently is and that's what it's regarding on that bit of paper. Like said before, the only thing that would fail HID's in an MOT is the beam pattern and colour. If putting them into reflectors (causing a blurry beam pattern) or have anything over 8000k then you'll probably fail. There's absolutely nothing wrong with putting HID's into projector headlights with a decent temperature (4300k or 5000k). They're not blinding and don't look aftermarket. If anyone has blinding HID lights they're putting them into reflectors, or have 55W 8000k's. HID's doesn't instantly mean 'blinding'. ....I love mine :3
  16. I emailed him about it and I had the same reaction too, that he part-ex'ed it and wants advice on how to advertise it. Weird.
  17. Look after a car and it'll look after you
  18. Harv_J pretty much explained it in a nutshell there! When you're suck it through a vacuum (your last step), do it slowly and keep the revs up at about 1,500 so that if it dips down, it won't stall. Hope it goes well!
  19. The base is the same as a halogen bulb, but a HID bulb is actually a burner, with two cathodes that ignite a gas in the center. It's longer and thinner than a halogen bulb, and as a halogen headlamp (reflectors) are designed to work with the shape of the bulb, it can throw the pattern off if the bulb is of a different shape. Hence why it blurs the pattern, and causes glare. A projector has a shield that just cuts off whatever light is above the pattern, so it doesn't matter about the bulb shape. And yeah, PjMetalHead is right with the adapter - the HID bulbs don't fit into the standard ones as the wires are fixed permanently to the base of the HID bulbs. The HID equivalent holders are only about £8
  20. Just because you don't have a Celica doesn't mean you don't belong part of the club! Stick around, don't be a stranger
  21. Unfortunately that's not right. Put your car against a wall and turn your lights on. Make note of the pattern, swap for HID's and do the same thing and see for yourself. The bulbs are a different shape and are longer, so the reflector doesn't work well with them. That and the fact that they're far more powerful - the beam pattern definitely won't be the same. It'll be similar, but a lot more blurry and more glare. It's weird that he didn't know that, unless he doesn't know much about the type of bulb.
