  1. I went from a gen 6 25th anniversary to my current 140, the 140 is quite a bit faster than the st, so I'm guessing the one you test drove wasn't te best so stick with it and test drive a few more. If you find a good one it will feel right.
  2. I'd go for a 25th as there a lot more rare than the sr model. The only thing is they come with 14" one off alloys which look so small. Mine didnt stay standard for long
  3. You'd be best getting the st202 gt mate, the SR and 25th have the 1.8 engine which can burn oil. I was lucky with my 25th I had as it never burnt any. Would you be keeping them standard?
  4. There's a scoop in your colour in the for sale section now £25delivered http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/170146-for-sale-gen-7-original-blue-bonnet-scoop/#entry2157141
  5. That's a bad dragon sticker!!! Bonnet scoop is just for nuts to undo on inside of bonnet For the boot struts there's a topic in the gen 7 section with links to new ones
  6. Welcome back mate, I sold my black 6 and bought a 7 a few months ago
  7. Looks like trapped moisture probably down to the cold temprature
  8. Yeah just use an extension on the breaker bar or socket wrench and that will easy reach the manifold nuts. The nuts and bolts for the cat and the rest I got from B+Q
  9. Good choice mate! Just give yourself plenty of time! Have you bought a new lambda or are you using your old one
  10. If the bolts snap when you use a breaker bar it's actually easier and quicker cos you'll just pull them out and replace. Gaskets you'll need are the 1 between backbox and middle, then 2x cat gaskets and then the 2x down pipe to manifold. I suppose though if your removing all you could just undo the 3 manifold nuts and the 2 that hold the pipe to the body of the car and then cut all the hangers
  11. No you don't remove the manifold, you won't need an and grinder either, it's really easy mate. Get some exhaust sealing paste just in case, but if you have new gaskets you'll be ok
  12. Easy job mate so give it a go, just make sure you get new nuts and bolts because some will probably snap off, also give tcbparts a ring and order the 3 bolts that attatch the down pipe to the manifold as they tend to round off. Oh and make sure you've got a deep 14mm socket for te manifold nuts ;-)
  13. Glad to see its staying and getting some love! And working at euro car parts will help a lot!!
  14. I used be the same when I had my gen 6....loved it when it was all working then as soon as something needed replacing or something broke when Ive just spent loads of money I'd hate it! But as said above I just spent some money and enjoyed a good drive to remind myself how good they are, and I loved it again. I bought a gen 7 140 a few weeks back and I love it but I'm sure I'll swear at it at some point! Mine had a lot of rattles in the boot so I got onto them straight away as I knew it would annoy me, I found it just to be the trays either side in the boot and the parcel shelf. So didnt take long to fix with rubber strips under the trays and rubber piping on the aside edges of the parcel shelf. If I was you I'd refurb the wheels, give the brakes a good service.
  15. Happy 3 Anniversary matt1280!

  16. Well if you decide on a 6, member on here "viva la blokes" gt4 is on eBay for a steal!
  17. I'm currently thinking the opposite, selling my 6 and getting a 7. I actual prefer the look of the 6 but I wouldn't mind something a bit newer and lower miles. But I've done so much to my 6 it's hard to part with it. As you mention fuel tanks can rust and leak like mine did a few months back but all was sorted for £160. Fuel filler pipes always end up corroding and leaking but are a cheap part to replace plus bottom of the doors rust. I do love the look of a modded 7 though! Lol I was no help was I! I'm as confused as you :-[
  18. Nah no chance! I've had enough of welding today lol
  19. Didn't realise the pipe goes all the way through! Looks like it's staying noisy then
  20. I could do the mid box easy-ish lol I could do it when I fit the new cat and get some of the rolled stuff and push it in with a pole, the back box I'd just have to push in from the tail pipe, if I use that acoustic boa stuff it expands with best so hopefully wouldn't blow out.
  21. Doesn't hurt to try I suppose, just don't want it to stop the flow of gasses to much You have pm :-)
  22. As above anyone used it before? I've found this one on eBay, it says it expands with the heat so it won't blow out, I just want to reduce the noise slightly. You get 400g 1 meter for £12 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
