  1. it is not a failure .the only failure for forward facing lamps is for sidelamps being a colour other than white, or the wrong colour indicators ,if your car fails for blue headlamps ask the tester to show you the failure in the testing manual ,he cant cos its not in there , i am not talking out of my hat here ,this very subject came up on the vosa mot refresher course that i attended last week .if it turned up at my station it would pass ,,,hope this helps
  2. here you go then ,,,ask for john ...ref rob from cat its £30 for wheels with tyres on, to strip powdercoat and then refit and balance.and they dont just do wheels ,anything that can be coated they will do http://www.citypowdercoating.co.uk/

  6. was reading through this topic thinking to myself sounds like a loose wheel ,as above check for damage also check all the other wheels are tight ,lucky escape there
  7. well said ..totally agree with this .good advice is paramount in these situations ps hope you get a job soon
  8. sounds like the clutch is not clearing fully. if the system is devoid of air then it could be the clutch cover at fault, but you do need to check that your slave cylinder is getting full travel when you depress the clutch pedal and the seals are not sucking air back in when the clutch is released .its worth pulling the rubber boot back on the slave cylinder and having a look to see if there is any evidence of dampness /brake fluid .but as arizona has already said you should just refer it back to the garage telling them that the clutch is not clearing
  9. the garage will have product liability insurance which covers them for any damage caused to your vehicle , its not your place to worry about the who or the how, just get them to restore your property which was damaged while in thier care, they have a duty of care to return your vehicle to you in the same condition if they argue the toss and by chance you paid with a credit card ,just complain to the card company failing the credit card route a visit from trading standards usually does the trick
  10. p6000 s are pretty much lethal in the wet ,too hard a compound but as a rule tyres for the wet are pressured slightly higher than in the dry 2-3 psi or so the reason for this is that the tyre is expanded slightly more so puts a wider tread area on the road .it is however a trade off between grip and sidewall deflection ,if the tyre is pressured too much then the sidewalls can be too stiff and as tyres are an integral part of the cars suspension pressures affect handling
  11. best thing you could do is to go in to a bodyshop with it and get a professional opinion and quote for machine polish or what ever it requires ,and then go back to the wash people ,at least you will have an idea of what is required and how much it will cost before you take it up with them

  13. looks good full marks for originality
  14. the one on ebay dosent fit been in touch with sparco italy about it /any ideas who custom built a cage .the only msa approved cage submitted for homologation was in 1992 by a firm called tarcal, dont think they exist now.omp cage is for gen4 and safety devices do one for the gen 4 also
  15. Does anybody know what the differences are between the gt4 gen 4 and gen 5 floor pans, if any .i am trying to buy a roll cage for my gen 5 st185 and nobody seems to think one has been made for a gen 5.I know cusco make a cage but it is not msa/fia approved and therefore not a useable item .Safety devices do one for a gen 4 but they dont think it will fit and the msa tecHnical dept has no records of any cage homologated for a gen 5 ,what a nightmare
