  1. Rather a pretty cockerel - I think Bill may be getting confused Perhaps a little whisper in his ear...
  2. Lovely photos! I was going to say has Bill aquired a girlfriend? Would it be possible for you to put the photos on the Dragon thread in Off Topic too? That will be a permanent reminder of his adventures over the years
  3. I've just been out to test mine at full boost and doing 90-95 mph for a few mins - and all seems well I've just done a pic of the diagnostics box and the paperclip goes from top left Fp to bottom left +B ports. You can see the piece of paperclip in the photo - works so far! Obviously, your problem may be different to mine, so take the advice of the guys on here first to see what you can run down or eliminate.
  4. It could be similar to the problems I've had with mine for months. We changed my fuel filter (or rather the garage did!), but it still continued to happen at all sorts of speeds and revs. It could well have been the same problem that I posted about last year when I had the loss of power at high speed and stalling. (http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/168605-total-loss-of-power-at-high-speed/) . My car stalled just as we turned into Prescott at the June meet earlier this month. I was occasionally getting fault codes 12 and 54. Paulus3476 had suggested a fix on the diagnostic box, which enables the fuel pump to run at full speed instead of half speed at lower revs (he'll put me right if I've got that wrong!). The fix involves leaving a section of paperclip in two ports. 1600GT Celica who lives locally kindly did it for me, and so far I have not had a problem during the last week . I just need to do one final test of hammering it down our local bypass for a length of time to see if anything happens. I would need to go out to check which ports, unless Paul posts about it first. Apparently there is a thread on here somewhere that covers it, but I haven't searched for it yet.
  5. Have a great trip! Look after Bill - gets lots of pics!!
  6. It's not worth throwing in the towel now, surely? Persevere - it looks good in your avatar
  7. Bumping this thread - it's a good read if you haven't already read it. What's happened to DannyScene - he seems to have had a relapse...
  8. Paulus has sent wings to me - can't remember which carrier he used but send him a PM.
  9. Happy 5 Anniversary CheltGirl!

  10. I would have thought stay in here - as it is an SOS story to help someone out, rather than your own ongoing mod thread. If you put it in to Gen 6, the rest of us might not get in there so often to continue the story. That's just my thinking from someone who doesn't mod and isn't a Gen 6 owner
  11. I don't know much about Gen 7s, but they don't have a GT4 do they? So they probably won't be reading this much. Although I did just google it and came up with Fensport Celica GT4 X, 818bhp and 4 Wheel Drive with 2.0L Turbo 3S-GTE Engine conversion on a Gen 7!
  12. I'll have to say ^^^ LIKE! Yes, let's turn on the Gen 7 lot now, you know they love it
  13. I was just trying to 'Like' that, but a notice came up saying I've exceeded my quota for the day - WE HAVE A QUOTA??? It's not my fault that there have been lots of posts today that are good Perhaps it's only me because I'm a 'special' Gen 5 owner!
  14. I'm glad you didn't say 'special'...! We do have our differences in the Gen 5 - but we usually restrict it to differences between JDMs, UKs GT4s and CSs and RCs - not each other I nearly waded in to say 'it's not what you say - it's how you say it' ! (as my mother always used to say to me as a child! It was a good piece of advice )
  15. I suppose I should have said "Other blue Gen 7 owners are available!" like they do for product placement infringements
  16. I was going to mention the mistaken identity..... it's because he saw a blue Gen 7
  17. ^^ ... that will shrink any blood blisters!!
  18. That is just such a fantastic story and a really kind offer on your part! So nice to hear she couldn't bear to part with it - even if it looked a bit of a mess. Sounds like you are going to enjoy this challenge . You'll have to fill us in on why the car got to this stage.
  19. Two weeks ago I did a journey out to a Cotswold town that, according to the net, had a Ferrari dealership - but I couldn't find it anywhere! Drove through the town twice without spotting it, so stopped and asked at the local post office. They didn't seem too friendly when I mentioned thr name Ferrari, but directed me down a road that eventually became single track. All I can say is if the place is still in existence, they like to keep well-hidden and a low profile! I did find a Gen 6 parked down there, but couldn't stop without blocking the road, so no flyer given out. The sensible thing to do would have been to phone them first (which I still might do...!).
  20. Well if it comes with free spectacles too - the policy has got to be worth it
  21. The retro image of the 185 is way more cool and fun!
  22. I couldn't tell you - but I love my 185!! I suppose it depends what your primary reason is - style or power (or both ) Quite a few have had both, so you will get some helpful comments!
  23. That does look like a good result for you on that stitching.
  24. No - only when you join for the first time and pay £12. You'll have to buy from Club shop - unless you go down the customised route
  25. The give-away on using the pen technique, which you can clearly see in the video clip, is the ink will tend to pool on the lower outer edges of the stitching. When you wipe across the line of stitching, most of the pressure is on the top centre of each raised stitch, so that is where most of the ink will be removed from. The top of the stitch will look paler than where it goes down into the leather/fabric. I guess for standing back and looking at the overall effect, it will look OK. If you look closely - it may look like your child has gone round the seats colouring in
