  1. That I will never be fully accepted by the Gen 6 backwards, or any of the VW crew. Many of tears shed at night
  2. People have success with copper but to be honest I think they are shit, I have had a few come back leaking on the likes of Citroen and Peugeot. You can get solid copper or collapsible copper washers. For the price of a genuine one, and also the price of a genuine oil filter, I wouldn't compromise.
  3. I am saying as far as I am aware the fibre ones are discontinued and Toyota only sell the alloy with paper, I could be wrong though. But the said alloy and paper in my opinion is the best for any Toyota sumps as they can be reused if needed to be whereas the fibre ones stick to the sump and bung, then they can split on removal. They stick so hard that the need prying off.
  4. Jeez I haven't seen a fibre washer for a Toyota in friggin' years. Copper washers are usually easy to over tighten and put out of shape. Toyota ones for the past 10 years have been an alloy washer with a paper covering on each side. Regarding the filter, many after market filters are black with Jap writing, makes them look genuine.
  5. I think a 5 would look pretty good doing a car dance, you need to give it a go and follow your instinct. Asking on here is only going to give you the answer you don't want to hear. As for airbag reliability, not sure. The Landcruiser has them fitted to the rear axle on some models and I have yet to see them perish, but after market ones could be different.
  6. I hated the induction boom noise it made and fit the butterfly back in after one day. But love the back popping exhaust I have. Horses for courses, you either prefere induction or exhaust noise, or even silent.
  7. The 6 doesn't have a pollen filter, it lets your lungs take care of the filtering.
  8. Happy Anniversary planc!

  9. Come on Ash, you have striped the Beams for some reason. Getting a Calibra?
  10. To be fair guys it will do no damage on any motor so long as the magnet doesn't protrude too far and the thread pitch is the same. My original point was that the Gen 7 has non ferrous alloy block, head, pistons, shells, caps and bearings. The crank, cams and timing gear are ferrous but if you have wear on these parts a bit of floating metal in the oil is small time compared to the real damage.
  11. I have noticed this, I put it down to being disliked, getting a complex here
  12. Toyota don't bother with these due to the parts that may wear are made of some kind of non ferrous alloy, if you have ferrous partials then you are already screwed. They do put them in diffs that will wear ferrous metals though.
  13. Depends on the loom plug, they maybe the same or different. Some airbags have 1 yellow plug, others have a yellow plug and an orange plug. I fit a gen 7 wheel to my Rav 4 but kept the original Rav airbag.
  14. Your spiral cable doesn't have enough spare terminals for the stereo buttons, but the biggest problem could be the air bag loom connectors. Also air bag volumes are designed for the intended vehicle and swopping from another vehicle could cause insurance issues. Every time I drive a newer Toyota this type of wheel centre reminds me of Ironman's helmet. (Mask before J03 takes the piss)
  15. But mine keep my hands so warm when I get cold
  16. Check your spuds bud, they are supposed to generate a fair bit of heat.
  17. I have never got on with engine stands, much prefere to work on a bench.
  18. I have found that the base coat usually fairs well but the clear coat can become milky. I also find it better to apply if you boil the kettle, pour into a coffee cup and place the touch up pencil into the water to heat the paint then shake the pencil like mad. The heat thins the paint and makes it easier to mix via shaking. If it is a spray can a god shake for a minute or so will do.
  19. My opinion of wheels like these are that when the spokes stop early and you have a deeper rim, so it makes the wheel look smaller and this is emphasised when the colour is darker as it blends in with the tyre. But they kinda look JDM.
  20. You sir have watched too many episodes of "Wheeler Dealers". I prescribe a hearty dose of Internet porn
  21. Now I admit I am a little strange here, I had a brand new 140 back in 2001 and I would park it in the streets of Bradford or Leeds whilst going out on a bender and not worry about leaving it overnight, then the next evening I would go and pick it up. Now I have a 12 year old 140 and I take more care where I park it, and park the furthest away in a supermarket car park as poss. I have washed it more times too and the first one I owned was black.
