  1. Get a set of easy-outs, inexpensive and they work! http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-cobalt-drill-and-easy-out-set-prod462398/?src=froogle
  2. Did it about 12 years ago on the bike (before the cameras). Great stretch of road, well worth the journey. 3 of us went there on our bikes - my Triumph T-Bird Sport, my mate's Triumph Speed Triple and another mate on a CBR600. Lots of bikers killed/injured there in the past, hence the cameras.
  3. That's a bargain... not even the price of a night out down the pub.
  4. Very nice indeed, but it's not available as a convertible so it's a no-no from me.
  5. GT4, but as well as, not instead of. And one of these as a toy...
  6. Is corp membership expensive, then?
  7. Wow! I've had lots of stuff getting into my eyes, rust-flakes, oil, water, luckily without any damaging results, but this is definitely a warning. First thing today I'm going to buy some light plastic goggles from my local Wickes and keep them in the car. Thanks for the warning, it would be terrible for anyone, but for someone as young as you to lose the sight of an eye must be devastating. All the very best of luck, the one bright thing is that at 25 years of age it's quite possible that there may well be a remedy available in the near future.
  8. Yep, same here, my local Sainsburys (Witney or Heyford Hill but NOT Kidlington) does a brilliant hand-wash and polish for £7, all Eastern Europeans and all working their socks off.
  9. Have you tried it, or are you just blowing wind?
  10. It surprised me when I bought my first Celica that we don't flash. All my previous sports cars - Triumph Spitfire, Triumph TR4, Triumph TR3A, Triumph TR6, MGA 1600 always flashed, and bikers give a nod of tyhe head to all, but Celicas don't do it. I always flash and/or wave, but in 3 years of owning Celicas I've yet to have one return. I guess it's the time... in the past we all thought of our fellow owners as someone we would acknowledge, times have obviously changed.
  11. Old hat... been around since 2006 so it may be a while before we can actually get our hands on them. http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn8907-invention-laser-spark-plugs.html
  12. Since they only operate when the doors are open, therefore the car isn't moving, it's my belief that they are legal.
  13. Here are a few pics of the clear door lights which Spree has fitted-out with 4 x LEDs per side. They're really bright, which is what I wanted. Julian tells me that he can also fit less bright ones, should they be wanted. Here's the car from the rear, with both doors open. The numberplate lights are also Spree LEDs: Drivers door open, with the interior blues also showing: Another view of the dial console: Needless to say I'm highly delighted with the end result.
  14. Drop Spree a pm - if he hasn't yet done a Gen 7 he'll probably give you a pretty good price so that he can get a kit up together. No soldering was needed on mine, the LED's are a direct push-in replacement for the bulbs. And the effect is awesome
  15. I generally use Sainsburys 95 RON, it's what my UK Gen 6 was set up for. Huge improvement with the 44K, I've tried the 98 RON stuff from a number of different places, doesn't seem to make any improvement over the 95 RON stuff. AFAIK Sainsburys is BP anyway, or so I'm told.
  16. Is your an import. If so you'll get it all done much faster than mine, as a UK car the aircon/heater unit was a right b*astard to deal with, it probably took Julian over half an hour to set-up with the LEDs. But I guarantee you'll just love the results, it actually looks so much better in real life than the pics can ever show. And, as an added bonus, the LEDs which Julian installed actually work with the dimmer rheostat on my car, never thought you could do that with LEDs.
  17. If it's Spree's kit you'll be able to do it in a couple of hours easily.
  18. Yep, the sidelights are amazing, and I love 'em like that. Spree gives you the option of bright ones like mine, or standard ones, I went for the bright ones, and don't regret it.
  19. and here are the results - taken with my HTC mobile, so if they're not good it's down to the mobile, and not Spree's stuff: Number plate lights: Sidelights: Dials: Heater and aircon unit: Clock, heater, aircon and cigar-lighter: Dials: They look so much better than the pics, down to the camera. In addition he has put blue LEDs into the door courtesy lights, I'll post pics when my clear covers arrive, and is getting the white LED's for my courtesy lights. All-in-all a great job, thanks Julian!
  20. I bought my Celica because I've always loved the general look and shape of the Gen 6 Celicas. My current Vert cost me just £2500, which is laughably cheap. I, like lots of "older" people, could probably afford to spend a lot more on a personal car, many of my friends buy a new car at up to £20,000 every few years, and at a push I could afford to do something like that, but I really have no interest in anything other than my Celica. I really can't see any advantage at all in buying something boring when I have a car which gives me a huge amount of pleasure every time I look at it, let alone drive it.
  21. My brothers CBR 600 was a nice bike, but not torquey enough for me, and I had a Fireblade for a short time but it was far too uncomfortable to ride over any serious distance. My current Triumph 900 is beautifully built, huge amount of torque and a real pleasure to ride, even over long distances. Now clocked-up over 90,000 miles and still runs like new. Costs a fortune to run, though, more than the Celica. Having said that, John Bloor worked very closely with Honda when he was setting up the Hinckley plant, so no surprise the bikes are so good.
  22. Depends completely on the condition and on the market - I don't think 18" wheels are in great demand for Celicas, most people stop at 17" The 18" Lenso new RS5's with new tyres can be got for around £810, but aecondhand I'd guess at around £200-£250.
  23. Mine has a GB logo on it at one end in front of the number. Does that make it illegal?
