  1. Well mine has run through a tank and i cant say i really noticed a difference at all, maybe slightly better power but it did 380 mile driving around town which is pretty good, i will see what i get on the motorway next weekend.
  2. If only the stock internals could take it, i would only need 35 sets of stickers on the outside to reach the top of the Gen 7 power list, only 30 sets if i went for internal but thats just madness.
  3. I put some BK 44 in this morning then filled her up. Wont be driving much as its just back and forward to work but i will take her a blast along the motorway at the weekend and see how she feels.
  4. This was our meet at Falkirk, and not even all the usual suspects turned up Pick a date, pick a place and get some interest, then you have yourself a meet
  5. I travel all the time, i spend half my weekend traveling up and down the country, unfortunately all the big meets happend to be on dates i can not make i'll make it to one next year though i hope
  6. Just ordered some aswell, shall post up any results if i find any
  7. We have had a few local meets just organised by oursleves. I organised the last one at Falkirk wheel but that was the satrt of the year, we havent really had any since then that i no about. You could always try organising one though, you'll be surprised how many members there actually are up here.
  8. Having a prefacelift 140 8 liters of oil is fine can never have enough lying around so 4.5l ish for an oil change and the rest is always good to have around
  9. I got a set of snow chains last year, just in time for the snow to melt. But there pretty tough, a friend of mine has some and uses them all the time in winter as he lives miles from civilisation in cumbria. On thick snow can easily do 30mph and dohnuts are great fun with them lol, we did snap part of one last year tho dohnutting in a carpark and hitting the concrete underneath, took the bolt cutters to it after to get the broken part off and it broke the bolt cutters before cutting the chain. i have them to get me out if i get stuck only
  10. Assuming you kept it in the car, check under spare wheel, behind boot plastics, under rear seats (was amazed what i found under mine) in where the jacks kept, glove box, under front seats, door packets, center console, thats about all the places i would check before a probably expensive trip to Mr T.
  11. If you want to sell it taxed, just tax it now, it will show up as insured still on the database if you do it online. You can always stick 6 months on then return the tax disk once sold abd get 5 months back i think. If not just sorn it online and the new buyer will have to wait.
  12. I use that method all the time while working on my car, my dad showed me it years ago. Must remember to wear my safety glasses next time im doing anything on my car, i usually forget
  13. Should be fine yeh, but why spots as footwell lights?
  14. Yes a bit cowboy but was quicker that way than it was messing around with the clamps, tried first one that way
  15. I used ones similar to the halford ones when i fitted my Apex springs and to be honest they were that much of a pain that i wouldnt even bother next time. Take the whole strut out tie a piece of rope or strap round the spring while you release the nut on top and slowly release the rope, when fitting again if yuo can force it down enough to get get the nut started on the thread with your own weight geeat or alternativly (or what i did) use the weight of the car but fitting them in and then put the nut on, one its started just take them out again and tighten adn torqu up the nut, job done.
  16. I dont get why your all so bothered about these and these sneaky police tactics, if a police car is sitting out in full view, everyone slows down so no one is caugh. If it is hidden everyone that drives at the speed limit is fine (which we all should be) and the idiots that dont because they think they can get away with it are caught. I used to speed until i got caught and now im quite happy to sit at the speed limits so its had a positive effect on me and it either will on the speeders out there or they will lose their license and be off the roads. I agree these vans should be used in built up areas around schools etc where whey will do more good. the more speeders/drivers on phones/not wearing seatbelts/no tax/no insurance taken off the road the better. Im sure it would be cheaper to have these cameras on large poles viewing several miles of motorway or dual carridge way at once sending out instant fines to poeple and the police instead of sitting in a van can be out enforcing these fines and making our roads safer. safer roads is a start towards increased speed limits surely
  17. I painted everything on mine that wasnt getting touched by the brake pad with normal hammerite and its been fine. Also paint the guard at the back of the disk, makes it look much better
  18. I did mine online last year and it arrived in plenty time, put it in the car until the end of the month when i would change them over, it took until about 2 weeks into the new month before i remembered that my new tax disk was still in the glove box and not on the window lol never had any problems though
  19. I can drive other cars 3rd party as soon as my new policy starts, had to be 25 i think. As i previously found out a few years ago when i got pulled over driving my sisters car for a rear light being out, assuming my fully comp insurance covered me to drive it, it didnt. After a £200 fine and 6 points i phoned up my insurance (Admiral) to let them know and they cancelled my insurance there and then saying they couldnt insure me, leaving me stranded at work without insurance. I was trying to avoid phoning dvla because its a PITA, but guess until im 100% sure i wont be driving anything but cars
  20. just pull the negative off the battery for a while, job done
  21. This is the bit that i read up on that i think i can drive a minibus, reason being i go camping quite a lot and there is a large group of us so minibus is usually easiest way to travel, plus we can have the loan of a minibus on weekends for nothing, only problem is there is only one of our group that can drive it right now and when you've been partying all weekend and there is a 4 or 5 hour drive home it would be better if more of us could drive it, so i wouldn't be for charity but it would be voluntarily, as you say a rather grey area though
  22. Thanks for the replys Done some more reading and it looks like i can drive any vehicle upto 17 seats including driver as long as the fully laiden weight does not exceed 3500Kg and it is for non profit purposes.
  23. What can i drive on my licence? I passed my test in May 2006 and have catagories A, BE and GH on my licence (the standard i think) Im 25,fully comp insurance and am insured 3rd party to drive another vehicle, i've been on the dvla website but its not that clear to me as there are so many different catagories and exceptions I have a few questions for anyone more knowledgeable than me, am i legally allowed to drive a 16 seater minibus? secondly what can i tow with a car? (obviously not with the celica lol) I've towed small trailers before as i think anyone with a full licence can upto 750kg, however what about things such as caravans? at a guess i'd say they weigh in the region of 1500kg And now a rant, i find it rediculus that anyone with a licence before 1st Jan 1997 can drive most things and tow anything, for instance my mum drives a couple of miles a day, hates driving and does it as little as possible, struggles to reverse a car never mind with a trailer or caravan on the back but she is legaly allowed to tow them, and me who drives 500 miles on average a week, 7 years experiance, confident in my ability experianced and capable of towing and manovering trailers ( on private land) yet in the eyes of the law i cant tow nuch on the road without taking a stupidly expensive course. I know plenty of people that tow things they shouldnt be on the roads because the course is far to expensive and half dont even realise they arent meant to as their parents always have done.
  24. Try get them to agree to have a profesional repair it for you, i wouldnt want them touching my car again
