Alloy Wheel Repair in Central Scotland Help?
Aftershock replied to celicamojo's topic in General Celica Discussion
Drop Briano a PM im sure he has a place he uses and can recommend to you, there are a few over Edinburgh way aswell, i used the Wheel Specialist in Edinburgh but wouldn't recommend them really, was just an average job and pretty pricey for the service i got. -
Wont no what condition most of the parts are in until i go see it, they guy is on holiday for about a week so will post up if i get it or not and give you dibs on these parts

Hi i have the chance to get hold of a Gen 7 with a knackered engine cheap as there are a few parts from it i want, but does anybody know how much i would get for it once i take som bits off if i scrapped it? Probably take bumpers off lights off and seats out. Also is it better to take it into the scrappy whole, cut it into bits or just let them come pick it up. Will obviously offer any parts anybody wants off it before hand but cant really keep it around to break it properly. Thanks for any advice

You can fit a exhaust for a 190 to your 140 without any problems really, you just cant do it the other way around. So that should widen you options a little. I have a Blue Flame on mine, just a little louder than stock in idle then a bit louder again the further up the revs you go.

any news from the crew at rs this year ?
Aftershock replied to Bumblebee's topic in General Celica Discussion
All the cars were looking great, that would be my silver gen 7 in your second pic Mek, but then you know that as its next to yours -
A quick update, i managed to fix the hose back onto the radiator last night and was up at 6 to bleed the coolant before work. Im not 100% sure all the air is out yet but it seems to be ok, i've topped up the coolant again and the temp guage was pretty steady. I'm picking up another radiator after work from euro car parts and some more coolant. As long as it doesnt loose any coolant and temp stays steady on the way down i will be fine, if not then i'll have a spare radiator with me to swap in

If anyone has one that can bring it to Rising Sun i will take it off their hands, i need a new one now anyway, just hoping my fix will get me to RS and back as i dont have time to replace it really before
-
Dont worry, if its not safe its not going anywhere, i will be gutted if i miss RS tho
-
I've just packed all my stuff into the car for Rising sun as im leaving tomorrow straight after work, checked the oil, which needed a top up, checked the coolant which also needed a top up so undid the coolant tank, went to un clip the hoses soi can lift it onto the bonnet latch and all the coolant started running out from under the car, it was like watching my car bleed to death. I though i had pulled the hose of from the top of the radiator, however the plastic piece the hose goes on to has broken, the bit left in the pipe disintegrated. No where to get a radiator at this time of night, managed to put in a plastic insert and currently waiting on the araldite to set before putting it back together. This couldn't have happened at a worse time, well apart from driving down the motorway i suppose. I just hope this works so i can get to RS, at least if i get there RAC can get me home.

When going on a road-trip, never forget....
Aftershock replied to InsolentMinx's topic in General Celica Discussion
If your fitting it yourself David i'd definitely take the wheels off and consider the front bumper off aswell, surely there will be some volunteers on Sunday Yes this is the exact same, he picked mine up from lee on his way home. There was a group buy a while ago for gen 6 ones, they should be easier to come by than 7 ones lol -

My cable tie days are over i hope, just fitted this -
I have one like the one linked above and just wired it into the existing cig lighter and it fits perfectly into the dimmer switch on the right of the steering wheel.

I've had them on mine for over 2 years, just have to make sure and check them after changing a wheel and driving a bit, otherwise had no problems, i dont think i checked for a while last time, hence the missing wheel nut. So its only toyota that make the flat seated ones needed for OEM wheels?
-
Do all standard toyota wheels use the flat type nuts? as i have the standard 16" wheels and have been looking for new nuts as i lost one of mine, but i have tuner nuts on that came with the car.

I had some Dodo Juice wax from Ninja shine lying around so stuck that on my wheel about a month ago and seems to doing no to badly

When Parking - Handbrake or Gears or Both
Aftershock replied to LiamGTR's topic in General Celica Discussion
Usually just the handbrake on unless on a hill then both. However at home i park facing down a hill with only the handbrake on as usually its about 5cm from my dads car in front of it so they both fit outside the house and i dont trust anyone to start it other than me if its in gear (a dont start it with the clutch down but always check the gearstick first). -
I got the Halfords Advance range last time it was on sale, very impressed with it and i;ve been quite harsh with it while fixing up an old tractor over the summer and it coped with everything, only thing that has broken is the case hmm wonder if halfords will replace that

I've always wondered why Toyota put removable clips on and not just mouilded them to the plastic, mine will be glued in next time i have to take the parcel shelf off aswell.
