  1. Splinter has probably hit the nail on the head for you here mate. I had exactly the same problem you had when i changed my rear disks a few months ago - couldn't work out what the hell was wrong, so took it all apart again and found there's two dirt shields on the rear. It's the little one that stops any crap getting inside where the handbrake shoes are that seems to disagree with any aftermarket disc - just needs a bit of adjusting. Easy fix and won't cost you a penny mate!!!
  2. Had 'kooks on the Tech's and they were great with decent tread - they do wear quickly though and once they reach the limit they are, well, sh!t. Mine did me about 10k miles. With plenty of tread, great tyre but no real life-span.
  3. I'm going to come burn your new garage down Anyway, you should be saying thank you to me - now instead of having the second best looking yellow Celica in Yorkshire you have the best....
  4. I wanna read mate - i'm really interested in seeing where you take the girl now. I'm unsure how blue is gonna look on the dials, but interested. I would personally go white
  5. I'm really glad your happy mate, I was so worried you might be slightly disappointed because I've put her on such a pedastal. I've got my memories and much more, plus I ain't leaving you bunch of Celica losers any time soon so I can keep an eye on her Now I got an Amica to rat and a Micra to mod!!!!! Btw, the Micra is sh!t hot and has better equipment than the Celica, am very impressed with the purchase.
  6. PMSL at the Amica with Techs The Micra is a burnt red colour and very nice tbh. J03, I gave her another shot of that stuff first thing this morning - should be good as far as the M25 Mick, i have looked at the Cayman and it might be a dark horse but the only issue I have is the power and fuel economy and tax bracket - TTS beats it on all three.
  7. It's a shame i haven't got her anymore, but she's still running perfectly and she stays in the club with someone i'm sure will give just as much care and attention. The end plan is hopefully something with a bit more power as standard (250bhp min plus more torque) that can eventually be tuned above 300bhp. Ideally it would be a new shape TTS, but could end up with a S3 ('08 on), RS 250 or Cupra. I'm sure i'll be smiling again later this year. Well nearly time to go pick up a new addition to our garage - Micra C C Essenza!!!
  8. I already have done mate. Now i'm going to occupy my mind cleaning out the 'mode of transport' i have for the next few months....
  9. Will be having one last bit of fun when I pick Chris up and then she's all his. I've spent most of yesterday and this morning pampering her and making sure she looks hot!!! I'm now 40mins away from passing on the torch - what more could I ask, she's going to a club member so I can still enjoy her from afar.... Still gonna beef like a great wuss though, then i'll get started giving the amica a wash and vac
  10. I'm the one who can't sleep - she's sat right outside the bedroom window covered in frost and just sparkling...
  11. I will probably be mate. Not that i'm a soft sh!t, but i wear my heart on my sleeve and when the reality of it all hits home I know it will hurt for a while - god i'm welling up now thinking about it!!!! Fortunatley, owning a Celica has given me more than just a great car, i've made some great friends who i consider to be like family and that makes the thousands of pounds I paid out for her an absolute bargain - i'll probably need you guys over the next couple of months...
  12. Looking forward to it. This is like selling a feckin pedigree animal - vet the new owner, are they responsible enough, will they take care of your baby, are they willing to make sacrifices. Must admit, and as long as you take her on Monday, this has been the most enjoyable car sale i've ever made as well as the saddest. I feel like i'm selling her to a friend and i hope we can remain friends after... ...even after the rear wheels fall off, the CD player stops working, the engine management light comes on and the car doesn't shift in to 3rd gear... ...JOKING!!!! lol
  13. Tickets??? That's plural - you only need one 'cos you'll be driving back down
  14. So you'll be happy to know that all the paper work, spare key, MoT's and receipts for the work done are sat on my kitchen side mate. Just gotta give her a valet, clean and wax tomorrow. I'm closing a chapter on what has been a very enjoyable three years, am sad to see her go but needs must if I want my next little project.
  15. It's about fitment at the end of the day and if they are secure in the hole and of a legal colour then what's the problem??? The only aftermarket HID's that have dazzled me are put on cars with reflective lights as opposed to projectors, and the worst of the lot are stuck on land rovers and range rovers - but wait, they come standard!!! Mine are fitted tight and secure, plus for extra safety i just adjust them from in the cabin to as low as possible.
  16. Yup, that would be me And they look feckin awsome But they're only hated by uptight, dull c-nuts
  17. Just taken advantage of the decent weather and washed and waxed ready for the winter. Whilst waxing I found some very fine blisters in the paint / laquer around the petrol flap. Tried to get them out with Megs U Compound, but no joy. So how do I get rid - wet&dry???
  18. Stock up on snow/skate/surf films - cool soundtracks and lots of sick visuals (tricks). Currently playing Chulksmack in mine at the moment (well, not right now of course...)
  19. So next question - i've pulled my brakes apart, sorted out the sliders (they were sticking a bit) and put everything back together. Just been out for a drive, done about 8 mile, quite quickly with a fair bit of braking and back home the brakes are warm and so are the wheels - should the wheels be warm to the touch???
  20. Wheels look fine, just a bit of fluid on the edge of the inside of alloy - all cleaned up now.
  21. Well banjo washers are on, but still running on four wheel nuts n/s rear. The hoses had leaked very, very slightly over night.
  22. Fitted braided hoses today - what a pain in the arse!!! And after it was all done, i realised i'd forgot to put the blooming copper washer on either side of the banjo - aaaaargh!!! Add to that a snapped wheel nut - not good. So, do I need to put them on - will i be ok making a short journey to the motor factors for more brake fluid? What about a wheel with only four nuts?
  23. They're like that fecking annoying spot on your arse aren't they, slowly irritates you more and more until they swell to become a big infected pain that gets in the way of normal day-to-day living. And no matter how you get rid of it you know it'll come back again....
