  1. being an eco warrior ( warrior ? moaner ) ive sniffed around these for a while , has anyone got any experience with them ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  2. if its got sharp edges then yes it will fail , taping over it sorts it out , id aim to replace it when a cheapie shows up on ebay
  3. ive 2 covers , i dont use either as both dont seem to be able to cope with wind ( im at athe top of a hill ) , roping them down doesnt help so ive given up
  4. mucho appriciated the plan would be to fly over from birmingham airport ( cheap flights and 20 mile from here ) then train it to his home , complain about the colour of the tyres and try to get a few quid knocked off , pay the man then drive it back , milage should be just over a couple of hundred miles or so , once back mot the dam thing then go down the route of registering it here , that the plan or half a plan anyway
  5. spotted a car i would happly buy if it were in front of me , however such is life and the bastards in ireland , and so if i were to be daft enough to get on a plane and go get it i could do with some advise on importing now ive registered bikes before , its get the certificate of manufactor off the maker , run off for an mot , take the bike and paperwork in the middle of the bastard night to edward st birmingham and wait 5 hrs for them to get there shit together to come inspact , pay for tax and registration and your away however this is from eire , it will have had tax paid from country of source but how does this impact in the uk , will i be faced with being taken up the shitter for tax and vat ? its registered and being used in eire , now as i understand it i will have a grace period of 6 months before needing to finalise the legal requirements of being tax and tasted and registered , is this correct ? will i get any issues of the nazis ( uk customs ) on entry going out on a plane and coming back in a car ? anyone brought a car from ireland even ? anything else i should know
  6. not sure it works , crushed garlic works for ohhhhhhh minutes , sadly it rains or is humid so its bye bye pepper/garlic
  7. 15 foot of wire and a plug , wire the dam thing to the mains lion shit works if you want to stop the cats shitting in your garden , it wont accually keep them away from your car unless your happy to smear , niceeeeeee the screamers require being plugged into the mains , can be hard to work out a way of getting it plugged in and positioned high enough to ward off the bastard when its jumped onto the car male cats then to roam all night long doing upto 20 miles round trip a night furiously shagging anything that pops into its line of sight , the cat may not be as local as you think as after dipping a few times they tend to have a rest so your car could be a stop off point what can you do ? nothing really , hope the bastard burns its paws on hot days and wax the life out of it to hopefully have the rodent fall off , other than a head shot your stumped ( not recommended , catch and drive the bastard to the next citys cats protection league ) , personnaly when i change the roof on my car i fully intend to spread massive amounts of gossip saying keep your cats in as some bastards is leaving bowls of antifreeze out to kill off your cats , as my misses works in a shop it should be a doddle ( cats like antifreeze as it tastes sweet but takes out there kidneys having a terrible death over a long time , people just dont , much as i detest cats i dont wish them halm and only write this so people know whats going on in there world , if you spot a bowl of blue/red liquid you suspect is antifreeze , report it )
  8. it changes the gas from one type of crap to another ever so slightly less crappy , works my a chemical reaction when the cat gets hot , if the gasses dont flow across the internal structure properly then the chemical reaction doesnt happen and polutants start to be pumped out , this can also happen if the cat isnt hot enough when moted however an mot gas check cant tell you if the cats shagged or not , it can only tell you theres high reading of the bad stuff , its not a done deal that the cat is at fault when you get a high co2 reading , it i9s just as likely to be the lambda sensors turning to shit so the engines over fueling , generally a cat rattles when it starts to break down inside , if its a thousand yrs old then it could also stop working as it should , in other words its fingers crossed its the cat thats shagged
  9. seam sealer a weld generally looks shite , chances are the metal will also be full of impurities so people in the know use seam sealer , its a special sealer just for welded joints and seams , you do no more than do a line , wet your finger and smear it , the result is 10xs better looking than without , it also paints over without issue or reaction , being honest it will also hide the bird shit poor welds we all so love and do oh and por 15 comes in a couple of colours
  10. ideally you hold the shaft with plyers before trying to undo them with a 10mm , sounds like you have been more than unlucky
  11. yes , its ground out and welded to fill the new hole then ground down so its near impossible to see the repair , once painted it becomes impossible , the repair if done correctly should be as good as prior to the repair , then theres lead loading , the lead is heated and smeared into the crack and ground down , its cosmetic and not upto much , the worst if body filler and a bit of paint , really not recommended at all although theres always some bugger who then goes onto do half a million miles with there rims full of plastic padding
  12. no , take new pics in the day and get them witnessed at tyhe same time , the pic is to show you have no damage at all , the witness is to be just that , someone who has merorialised the car on that date and time and within a time you could not have had the car repaired , should only take a minute or so , night time is no good ,must be cold hard light of day and at least 5 pics
  13. get a picture of your car asap and print it off , get it whitnessed and signed `` a true and real likeness , signed etc etc and dated ) then send it to your insurance along with all details plus how you contest any claim due to a lack of damage on either car find out his details ( from your insurance ) , write to him informing you intend to go to the police as its a clear case of fraud on his part , also inform your insurace and his of the same ,,,,, and do it , get it recorded , get a number , pass this number onto both his and your insurance then sit back and relax , bet nothing comes of it after this
  14. its voodoo , slaughter a chicken at midnight surrounded by people tripping like fook and all will be revealled , dont forget to dress like baron sante
  15. Recall: No. 5 of 5 Recall Ref: R/2003/030 Exact Model: Description: POSSIBLE FAILURE OF WILL TO LIVE VIN: JTDDR38T#00133333 to JTDDR38T#00151427, JTDDY38T#00059144 to JTDDY38T#00064700 Build Date: Numbers: 2440 Defect: Driving with the window down on a hot summers day and then seeing what the air blast has done to your hair Action: Drive to work and use the grooming products normally assocuiated with your customers Launch Date: 12 March 2003
  16. depends on a few things here its approx £130 a ton , the car will be slightly less than this , they will also take off £5 for each tyre including the spare , they may also charge you the same for the battery ( and yet give you a tenner each 1 if you bring in a load 1) now i would never sugest draining all the fuel off and filling with water to get extra weight , i would suggest dragging it there , stopping round the courner , removing all wheel nuts but 1 , drgging in then asking that they stick the forklift through the windows so you can remove the tyres , some will allow this , others wont
  17. read my post again , its a short term loss like buying another car but long term gains , unlike buying another car , honest its a viable proposition for cheaper running costs without the loss of power for gains when you sell the car
  18. oh yeah for sure , we were buying blocks of cars direct from the insurance companys , we outted a few privately , some at auctions and some repairs , we would get 12 year olf vauxhalls with a wing mirror swinging on its wire , no other damage only the mirror itself , we would however always find the cars half shagged and hence the owners happy to get some decent money out of insurance than try to shift the pile of shit themseleves , some were down as insurance cat D and you couldnt find any fault at all that would warrent it being an insurance write off , an example is this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT look at the pictures first then read it afterwards
  19. daft question perhaps but if you love the car but dont like the running costs why not do something about it ? hows about a gas conversion ? also a remap will see you doing loads better on the mpg and using gas will save you a fortune , it normally takes about 18 months for it to pay for itself in running costs , however the resale value of your car will be at least £500-750 more once its fitted so you near as dam it get the money back in the long run also your not having to lash out for tax , mot , insurance , tyres , breakdown ( if you brought a fiat lol ) servicing , depreciation ,,,,,, etc etc
  20. err another way of putting it is this an insurance repair requires brand new components to be fitted , the cost of new parts is hahahahaha how friggin much ? because of this cars get writtern off then there is the type of damage , the fashion is to use uneconomic repair but this doesnt cut it really , if a car needs more than half of the total repairing then its fooked and down as a B , if its decided to remove a car completely never to be used again ( fatac , fatial accident but not always mind ) or is in such a state you can only guess at what it once was then its a crusher so an A
  21. its hard to question it when the accident wasnt your fault and if you were in the range of the book price , the insurance expect proof the cars 100% in the event of a claim for theft , it was once a common practice to buy damaged repair cars , get an mot on them and then do an insurance claim , the car goes missing and who knows if the repair was ever done , hence insurance can be bastards , if you get an agreed value and pictures then theres nothing to worry about
  22. in the event of a claim the insurance will pay out less , the bastards dont charge less premium as for repairs , depends on hows its done , correctly it will be fault free and as has been said can be stronger than standard fair , done poorly then its shit fitting panels with doors and bonnets that dont open and rust before you know it , check yourself , your looking for poor fitment , super glued plastics and piss poor colour matches , if its a good job you should have to look hard to find the repair
  23. when i was over there in the taxi from the airport the misses says ``theres a celica`` , spotted it before me !!! it was a white gen 7 with daft spolier and a black bonnet , didnt see another till near time to come home when i saw another 7 but this time in that silvery browny shitty colour , totally standard so i near missed it , didnt see another and i did look for them , the vast majority of cars were funky camereo taxis , huge buses , limos and oddly ford transit connects
  24. petrols 92 cents a litre angus going on last month would i ? ummmm nope i wouldnt , the main reason is this , you have no idea of what car you will need when you get over there , you could find your car bloody useless , america has big ass cars with soggy rides for a reason , the roads are chronic and people drive like they dont give a shit , without all the hastle of registration theres still the problem of using a rhd car in a lhd country , parking is a bastard , you cant see to over take and as the entire country is based on drive throughs you will soon get pissed off with getting out of your car to do whatevers needed be it a burger or a parking ticket
  25. confess ? who me i run 80/100 watters most proberbly xenon , blue jobbies anyway , gen 5 lights are suspended in metal with a metal backing so it works as a head sink and doesnt get affected by the heat generated , also gen 5`s were made with proper materials so dont have wanky plastic headlights , glass all the way so once again its unaffected by the heat , not sure id recommend this to other people mind but personnaly i like to see where im going and gen 5 lights are generally wank
