E56 is LSD ..not all superstruts have the lsd gearbox..

I think the bolt's are the same ..The 3 post holes in the taligate won't line up with the 2 post though..

I used a litte thread lock on each bolt to help stop the coming loose also...I think the mistake people make is overtighten the cover which damges the rubber gasket..

It might just be the cable come out of the lever..known this to happen..

I do yes,i have a lever /cable ..whatever you need.

try a bit of lube,it might help ...on the release mechanism .. I have these available if you need any parts ...

could be the lever has broken or cable has come out of the lever..? or broken cable or mechanism fuel flap end..
