  6. I see Neilw has done a little law, he is right of course, not a lot to bring a case and like he says easier to prove as circumstantial evidence is taken into account, BUT even if a civil court finds in your favour and she has to pay compensation, you still got to try to get the money off her, unlike a criminal court where fines are enforced, civil courts aren't, so could take a while to get your money back, as she will be unemployed and will plead poverty to the court, at 5p a week it will take a while to pay you back. But good luck with whatever you do mate .... I do have a few female friends willing to pay a visit of course LOL
  7. Thanks that was really helpful explains what i needed to know about the buttons. Thanks again Dave
  8. Hey Guys, Just bought a 1995 gen 6 GT(thats the 3rd celica i bought) its in an ok condition ... but its an automatic, it has the 3S-FE engine i think but its the gearbox that has me confused, the drive/reverse bit i understand even the overdrive button but the buttons around the lever i aint sure about .... plus its a bit of a quandry cos its a GT. 2ltr pre face lift chassis with facelift body kit, spoiler lights etc but not the airbag etc ....very confused lol can anybody tell me what the flippin buttons do .... especially the little red one with jap writing under it???????? thanks Dave
  9. Hey guys i found a place that sells workshop Manuals for our beloved Gen 6,(not Haynes, i think they are American company called Collins, but i may have the name wrong)unfortunately it only covers the US import but crucialy covers the uk ST version with the 7AFE engine here is the link to their website, plus they do lots of stuff for the Celica range all mail order. (I do not work for this company and have no financial stake in any orders taken) I just like to help out Members. car Parts Direct Thanks guys Dave

  11. Wahoo! Sorted it! .... found the fuse that turned the flasher, siren and elecronic inhibitetor, then removed the cable group that entered the control boxes fo the alarm/immobiliser .... hey presto car starts first time .. Just need to check everything works before I reassemble the glovebox and trim.
  12. well tried that and not working .... gettin pissed off now ... i have taken glove box out and i think i found the control unit for the alarm ... i pulled a fuse that has stopped the lights flashing and lets me turn the engine over but it still won't start .... it either stops the power to coil or fuelpump so stuck now .... could do with knowing which other fuse disables this function or which wire to cut.... any ideas?
  13. Thanks for the quick reply but that solution is for the facelift model with the teardrop remote. Dave You need to do this. 1. Disconnect negative battery terminal 2. Turn key in ignition to acc 3 position i.e so dash would light up if battery was connected 3. Wait till at least 30 seconds has elapsed since disconnecting the battery then reconnect the negative terminal. 4. Once reconnected press and hold both alarm buttons till the indicators flash. thanks will try this now
