  1. That is the the big IF though, as i have said on numerous occasions, some of the cars round where i live have the worst aligned HID's i have ever seen, but they only get checked once a year, and if they fail they just stick the old bulbs in for the retest then switch straight back to HID's the next day Aligning headlights at home isn't that straight forward I know i keep banging on about it, but i suppose my biggest gripe is with the few who don't bother checking their alignment, and yes i know this can still happen with normal halogen bulbs, but badly aligned HID's are far worse than badly aligned halogens IMO
  2. Give them that there Gen 5 moderators number, i forget his name now though
  3. Fingers crossed he doesn't notice the bonnet then, either that or just play dumb and say "well that's how i bought it, i thought it was standard" then flutter your eyelashes at him
  4. I fear you will have to fight for a good payout, best bet is to scour ebay, autotrader, free ads and print off all cars in a similar condition and mileage to yours, then if they do offer you £200 you can send them all the ones you found (at the higher end of the price scale of course) and hopefully get a better payout I'm also assuming you declared it had after market wheels and a GT4 bonnet when you got it insured
  5. Fingers crossed, but i'd be very surprised if it was economically repairable
  6. Sorry to hear this Arizona, most important thing is that you are ok
  7. Hallelujah, finally Looks like UK Gen 5's & 6's might get away with HID's though as they both have headlight washers
  8. Sorry to hear this Fab, and if i lived closer i would love to take your car out as i you have one very very tidy Gen 5 indeed, and i can't blame you for not wanting to sell it either Hope you have a speedy recovery and get back behind the wheel of your beautiful 5
  9. I think i am right in saying that you are only legally allowed to use it when the car is off the road, on a driveway etc, if you car was parked on the street then you are not allowed/supposed to use remote start
  10. I presume it has the exact same range as your alarm fob
  11. Yeah, for nesh Southern Fairies I got out the house this morning, started the car then cleared all the snow off the drive and path, by the time i had finished the car was nice and warm
  12. Try living in Sheffield, we have more hills than flats, so not much chance of not parking on a hill
  13. Always use both, my old man told to do it that way in case your handbrake cable snaps while parked up (it happened to him a long time ago) No point not using both IMO, extra security and piece of mind
  14. Yep, all Gen 6's came with the REV 3 3SGE (well, those that came with the 3SGE, and then some later SSIII's came with the REV 4 BEAMS)
  15. I paid £5 for 2 tyres to be switched over..................... even bigger bargain
  16. This is what you want http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160589245114?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1952wt_905 I have given my seal a few treatments over the past few weeks ready for the Winter, it's not been cold enough up here to get icy yet, but this stuff should do the trick and will also give your rubber seals a good conditioning too
  17. It made a difference to mine, in that i wouldn't have been insured fully comp without it, and Sky were by far the cheapest anyway
  18. Same with Sky, they wouldn't insure me without a CAT 1, but at least i know my car is safe
  19. You do realise you need it installed by an approved dealer to get insurance discounts, installing it yourself won't give you any insurance reduction
  20. I don't mind seeing these sort of things for sale on ebay, but i thought Funky Power were a reputable outfit, it really does put you off buying from them knowing that they are selling this tat
  21. Doesn't the Escort Cossie actually share more of it's DNA with the Sierra than an Escort, i'm pretty sure it is a Sierra floor plan with the Escort shell stuck on top
