  1. I believe you need a XZN Driver, sometimes called a triple square, to remove them. Try sending DD1 a PM, he was e.mailing Fondmetal to ask last I heard.
  2. Well done, Bob. Beats me as i've only been here around eight years
  3. I knew they were a KIA dealership, but nothing else.
  4. OK, Chris..lets hope the repairer does that "top notch" job for you
  5. If Chris's Ins. Co. were to rate the car a Cat D, they would make him an offer for the car minus his excess. Going on your figure of £3K, he would receive £2650. They would then sell the car to recoup some of their loss, which is where you have come in, in the past
  6. The cost of repair plus hire car costs would have to exceed the pre accident value of the car. Really can't see that being the case in this instance
  7. But, Mikey, it isn't going to be a Cat D. If there was a danger of that happening, I wouldn't be strongly advising Chris to use something he's already paid for.
  8. Chris, LET YOUR INS.Co. REPAIR YOUR 7!. Repairs almost always cost more to repair than you'd expect due to invisible damage. Also, it's unlikely to make any difference to your premium come renewal time. Sadly, the damage has already been done to your N.C.B. One thing you might want to ask come renewal time, is to waive your option of a courtesy car. This MAY reduce your premium, and will definitely reduce the chances of a car being written off. The hire companies charge extortionate amounts, and it's time something was done about motorists being ripped off for this "privilege" with higher renewal costs every year.
  9. I think the vast majority of us are aware of this site as its been posted on here before. But thanks for the thought
  10. 3.3% doesn't sound much, but the difference on the road with 205/40 would be dramatic. I've tried 215/40, 205/45, and 215/45 on the front of my 140. I'm currently running 215/40 (helps the acceleration slightly), and I can tell in 6th gear on the motorway, that the revs are higher when cruising with the slightly smaller rolling radius. Not having VSC, means I can mix sizes front to back, so 215/45's give some comfort on the rear.
  11. The older car will be missing a Sunroof too, as it's not a "Premium Red". My favourite Gen 7 is the "Premium Blue", but these are few and far between.
  12. Am I right in thinking you haven't had the Falkens very long?, wait until the weather warms up and I think you'll notice an improvement grip wise. Most tyres like a bit of heat in them. Smaller rolling radius = lower MPG..yes.
  13. Too small for a Gen 7, and any saving on purchase will be negated by lower MPG.
  14. Use the spare keys..simples Failing that, can you block up the exhaust to stall the engine?
  15. Difficult to say without knowing what make of tyre is fitted. Did you enquire as to what size they are?.
  16. I don't normally post auction type listings as it can push the price up, but as these are listed under "Seat", not many members will spot them. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4600c6c8cb
  17. You shouldn't be mixing tyre sizes on your car (VSC?), so personally, I'd be buying either T1R or T1Sport in 215/45/17 to match the pair on the front.
  18. Wisdom comes with age. Is that what you call a "back handed compliment"?
  19. Quality wise, I doubt there would be a great deal of difference between the three apart from price. So, personally, i'd opt for the QX.
  20. Go for the OE size of 205/50/16, 452 or 912 is up to you. I would be interested to see how many miles to the gallon you would get with 205/40/16 though
  21. Would you be willing to split them?, I need two to make up a set.
