  1. Yep, so that's why I got the Evo. Id spent around 8k on my old ST205 and then drew the line. Infact the only reason I got a Faff in the first place was due to insurance costs.
  2. Why is a snap off boss an mot fail? Mine went through with one no problem
  3. Its cut and weld job on a car exhaust, you don't just push the wadding into the pipe!
  4. I don't think there would be any problems with doing it but surely when the battery goes back in you won't see it anyway!
  5. Sure its white smoke? If it smells like oil then it'll have a blue tinge to it, if its leaked onto the engine as you say then it'll be burning off, it will take a while to burn it all off though. When I replaced the turbo on my old gt4 it still smoked and smelled oily for a good 100 miles or so until it had burnt it out of the exhaust system.
  6. It will increase power as they say but I don't think the difference will be that great that you'll really notice it in any situation tbh
  7. Personally I don't think you'll notice 10bhp, if it was a caterham style car then yes.
  8. There you go then! Get it booked in
  9. TBH mate I think your going to have to travel to find someone to fit ecu and map your car. I know I would sooner travel 2-3 hours to find someone who knows what their doing rather than give it to a local place who will probably be "experimenting" with your car.
  10. Be the easiest and possiibly cheapest way. As long as its setup properely there won't be "danger to manifold"
  11. I would be inclined to spend the money on grippier tyres in the size you have already. Going to wider wheels means money for the new rims plus tyres and it'll probably make very little difference to the grip level for the amount of money spent. My Evo runs 205's up front and it handles the power well (I know its AWD but still!)
  12. Happy Anniversary paulgtt!

  13. Give John Sleath a call http://www.john-sleath.com/ He seems to do a lot of mapping etc on a variety of cars and Yorkshire based
  14. if theres man power either end then just lift it by hand, thats what we did with my old shell
  15. Heatgun to remove them, then Autosmart Tardis to get rid of the glue. You'll need to give the car a good polish afterwards as chances are the paint will be brighter where the graphics have been
  16. How many miles do you do for work? If its a fair amount then it maybe worth getting a GT4 and a little runaround to use for work (obviously if your in a position to do that) Theres always a risk of going to another car but if it really is now or never then, well, how much of a gambler are you?!
  17. There wouldn't be a massive amount in it tbh but my money would be on the Honda
  18. 1/4mile pretty much even, round a track probably the Civic imho
  19. Which Rota's you going for? I know the "Force" are available with the correct offset, not sure on the rest of the range though!
  20. What wheels are they? I had Rota GRA's with the same measurements and it was a gnats whisker clearance off the front calipers, I put a set of 5mm spacers on just to be safe. Ideally you would want et35-et38 for a faff BUT its all down to the spoke design more than anything else which will dictate whether they clear the brakes or not. The higher the offset the further in they will sit.
  21. You could do it on a round by round basis, which is what I did, and I went to the 2 local tracks so fuel costs were kept down aswell. You'll need a Snell approved helmet and a pair of race gloves if you haven't got them already and thats about it. With regards to the car, well, thats down to how much you want/can spend on it, some people take virtually standard cars so its as expensive as you want to make it.
  22. Well done everyone! I can't quite pull off the Stig look can I
