  1. no do you need me to think of something else ?
  2. me with my first celica ( the red one ) and then with sooty
  3. Sorry to hijack this thread, as per your quote, i understand the mechanics of this, yet what i am struggling with is why so much wasted unused surface area. The motorbike piccy above, to me, have it right, the vast array of styles whether functional or neccessary is left to the imagination. Whether this can be used in the car industry i havnt a clue, perhaps car weight and stress loading dictate it as a nono??? How many agree with me on this? Just think how much more paint or bling we could see behind the wheels instead of a solid lump of steel and a painted caliper.. ps I dont mean to belittle the origional post and piccy, they look very good, i just feel we or the industry could do better. :popcorn2:
  4. My mot isnt due til september but it will be my first mot with sooty i hate taking mine in the fear it wont pass but my red celica i had never failed not even when it was dripping oil all over there clean floor ( the oil pump seal was leaking but we fixed it after mot )
  5. stick it on gumtree its free mine sold on there but didnt on ebay , just cost me instead
  6. It cant be that hard, its a myth that rusty fords are contagious, only if your car touches them is it time to worry  and the 6 is immune anyway
  7. I dont agree but dont diagree with you but personnally i like to know what sort of cost im looking at before i buy as my budget wont allow for expensive insurance
  8. i bet thats true ! the only thing that i saw on that site was they have it as an ssI but its an ssII but thats his prob
  9. I didnt know you could do this ! and yes it does have insurance so thats one good thing
  10. Up date my old red celica has been seen driving around derby lets hope he sorted insurance out !
  11. "The manufacturer will consider a warranty replacement but will not do so sight unseen, so they would have to be returned to us for inspection please. From the images you have supplied, it appears that they have been left with water inside them as this, coupled with a damaged surface, would certainly allow them to go rusty." This is the response i recieved today !!! talk about rude ! what am i supposed to do run out side every time a drop of water goes near them and as for dirty weve had snow and rain in the last couple of days what does he expect ! Another email sent now lets wait and see what they say
  12. Do i get a prize, must admit i did say to hubby do i need to get proof of post, and then didnt touchwood will be fine. With or without driver i know my choice
  13. If you all think back (those old enough ) to the 80s and before, how many cars had plain wheel nuts? no chrome, just plain old steel, how many of these disintegrated before your eyes ? None that i remember, go to any scrap yard they were the first bits to end up in the mud,yet quick wipe and a squirt of wd40 and good as new. We can go to our damp dark lockup our old classic lives in, unfortunately and not a spec of rust on wheel nuts. Is it me or do we seem to be paying for modern technology thats inferior to the past,??? Even chrome plating today is rubbish mass produced c*** that we are supposed to throw away after 2 years, anyone agree ? even popcorn dont taste the same.
  14. thats why i went for the dearer ones and not the cheaper sets thought they may have been better but wont the inside peel when putting them on or removing them ?
  15. cheeky i cant get a colour match set for my wheels
  16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=261098484920%29&_sacat=0&_from=R40 these are what ive bought
  17. Ok so some of you know that ive got new wheels ( and yes it does and will be lowered before you start ! ) now the problem i have is as you can see from the pic the nuts are going rusty and theyve only been on the car about 3ish weeks .Ive been in touch with the suplyer and they say theyve not heard of this before , they asked if it was possible to send the nuts back for them to have a look , my reply " shall i put my car on bricks then " answer not possible lol so ive had to send them pics so they can send it to the manufacturer . Has anyone else had this problem ?
