  1. Seriously though, they're cheaper to buy, cheaper to fix (not that much really needs fixing). Arguably better looking (possibly why toyota sold more g6's in a 4 year production run than they did g7's in nearly twice as long). And a grand could get you a sorted ss3 (non-BEAMS) with twin-pot front brakes & an LSD. Plenty of 'S' Reg ones about too. And apart from the doors, they rarely rust. Even this isn't a problem though (unless you're awkward & get a rare colour) as they un-bolt easily enough, so no big bills for spraying.
  2. In a word, yes! I am somewhat biased, however....
  3. Me too. HKS plugs are made by NGK, rumour has it.
  4. So basically taffcelt, we've no idea with regards to ratios. Some have heard they're different, some believe there's no difference. All you need to know is.... He's called the stig! Both 3sfe & 3sge s54 06a 'boxes will fit.
  5. I'll have to do a bit of digging, but I'm 99% sure I remember reading a thread on an MR2 forum talking about gearing options in which they came to the conclusion that they were all so similar (if not identical) that if you wanted to have taller gearing you had to use camry v6 'box parts.
  6. 3sfe & 3sge engines use the same s54 'box. s54-06a means open diff s54-06D means LSD Most are open diff, & LSD 'boxes are usually way more expensive (unless the seller has no idea it has an LSD). As long as the car from which your replacement box comes from says the same 'box code you'll be fine. (There are other LSD 'boxes, but as you have a 3sfe engine, it's unlikely you'll have anything other than an S54).
  7. Same thing happened to mellowfellow a year or two back. I got a call from him asking if I could come & meet him outside his boy's school just down the road from me. Chucked some tools in the boot & when I got there I found one of his front wheels had about 45 degrees of unwanted camber! Turns out all 5 nuts had been loose, 3 had come off completely, the other 2 were only on about 1 & a half turns! He had 4 bent studs & all 5 holes in his alloy had turned oval. He ended up getting a whole new set of rims, but rather more worryingly, he'd been dropping his kid off at school & been doing upwards of 50mph only moments before. He'd had a pair of new front tyres fitted at a local garage the day before...
  8. Love the way one of the page's tags is "Stanced Toyota Civic". Hmmm....!
  9. Betcha you've already started looking for your next bit of carbon!
  10. Funny you should say that, because that's the exact same reason why I've had to cancel the rusty grey door mod I was planning...
  11. Get one then! All the cool kids have them! (And me too...!)
  12. How boring, thought you were going to say it was some dodgy porno-esque scene where she answers the door to find a postman with a large package for her..... Moving on.... Look what I got Ryan got in the post today! Yay!
  13. Is this gonna be some gruesome letterbox/flaps misunderstanding....?
  14. Err dunno, a really sick pervy postman...?
  15. Good mod. Hope it's not too much work to fit, though this is exactly the sort of part which will need 3 or 4 knock-on mods, like longer top-mount studs or something equally annoying.
  16. According to google chrome's dictionary we are..... (Edited ^^^)
  17. That'll be a brake master cylinder support bracket to stop the firewall* flexing under hard braking, thereby reducing braking efficiency. That do ya? * or bulkhead/rear wall of engine bay if you're planc.... And really pedantic!
  18. If reporting it doesn't get you anywhere, at least you've got your old number plate.... So you can track down the bell-end that did it & ram it down his/her throat! "Sorry mate, didn't see you there!" "MMMffwwww!" "What's that?" "MMMMMMMwwwffff!" "You've got internal bleeding? Never mind! Prick!"
  19. I'm only halfway through the re-polishing but it's looking pretty good so far....! A Blitz Nur Spec middle pipe to replace the colinder currently being used....
  20. Not particularly impressive? How about now? Big thanks to alwayzsidewayz!
  21. Well there's a lot of different types even within Humbrol's range but enamel paint should see you right. Don't forget to thin it slightly or you'll end up with evil brush marks of death amateurishness! You might even be able to get your desired colour in an aerosol if you're lucky.
  22. Wouldn't use a Humbrol brush though, you might be there a while.....
