DanH
This what I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181240259741?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%257CR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D181240259741%26_rdc%3D1 But thats for the Gen 7. This seems to be the right one for the gen 6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-Camry-Celica-MR2-Yaris-Rav4-boss-kit-fits-Momo-OMP-steering-wheel-/170961809868?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27ce1e31cc Cool, thanksWould a 3ohm resistor be enough for the airbag light? DanH
This is my Kode dished wheel with ebay boss. I agree with Joe, such a transformation to the driving experience. I received my boss kit an wheel today. 2 questions: 1. how did you connect the horn? 2. I ended up with a gap between the boss and the plastics..any ideas how can I get rid of it? Thanks
Booth
The horn was tricky. There is a metal ring at the back of the boss, the positive horn wiring needs to contact that and the negative contacts the inside of the boss through the steering column as a ground. Its a bit tricky and will require some interesting wiring to make it work. I didnt get a gap with mine so cant really help with that sorry.
DanH
Thanks... I need to do some research, as I have only one wire for the horn
Booth
Same with the 7. There should be 2 connectors on the back of the horn. One needs to connect to the inside of the boss as a ground and the other wires to the positive.
Trebor4460
Horn will basically sound if the wire from the original horn connector, is ground ..earthed on car body... Take a wire from the connector and make permanent contact with the disc at the rear of the after market boss via a home rigged paper clip which has been connected to the one wire. Once this is done there is a wire in the aftermarket hub, your one wire, with a connector on it that connects to the wheels horn, just plug it onto one of the two connectors at the back of the horn.. You now have basically a circuit from the original horn connector to the horn switch, even when the wheel is rotated, so when pressing the horn switch it completes the circuit, and horn sounds.. In effect just as if you were grounding the original connector wire . Edited November 3, 2014 by Trebor4460

25th Anniversary
dont you have to tell your insurance company about changing an airbag wheel to a non airbag version? Im pretty sure this will void some insurance policies also.
Trebor4460
you just need to convince the system that the airbag is still there even though you take it off.. its easily done by putting an appropriate resistor in there, this will mimic the resistance the airbag would normally produce when a check is done when you first start up, and hence the light will go out. a resistor is the better method than taking the bulb out as when mot time comes the airbag light has to light then go out to pass the test. heres a vid i made on my channel explaining the process. http://youtu.be/abZqHPzObf0?list=UU4LUIUJ-hL7tZP6p5WWjxjw heres a night pic of my Kode wheel, and as others have said if feels real good in the hand, dont you have to tell your insurance company about changing an airbag wheel to a non airbag version? Im pretty sure this will void some insurance policies also. yes you do, in fact nowdays, any change at all you are best telling them, imo if you are modding it is always best to insure with a specialist insurer, its cheaper with them than you think. I know about mods on insurance policies mate, as i used to be a car insurance manager when i was living in Swansea . Just be careful as some companies ive heard will not insure a car without an airbag (if the car was originally fitted with one)

toiletduck
Bit off-topic, but how do the deep dish wheels change your driving position? I can sort of imagine feeling like it's too close to me, but haven't ever driven a non-standard wheel.
J03
Bit off-topic, but how do the deep dish wheels change your driving position? I can sort of imagine feeling like it's too close to me, but haven't ever driven a non-standard wheel. Much better driving position, I get into standard cars now & it just feels so awkward having to reach forward for the wheel. You get a nice close steering position with outstretched legs, perfect. (A milder version of the pic below) I don't have a deep dish by the way, I run a flatter wheel with a Brown & Geeson adjustable boss, but the effect is the same.
