matt1280
Lately my back brakes have started squeeling when i start to brake, The discs and pads are only 7 months old. As im cleaning up all my calipers soon is there anything i can do to stop it? I remember when i used to do downhill mountainbiking when the brakes started to squeel we just used to lighly sand paper the pads surface and this would stop it,
Cleario
Like you've said you can de glaze the pads with some sand paper, make sure you grease the carriers when you rebuild the pads using copper grease, also clean the disc faces with brake cleaner
thermoacc
Hi again! Reassemble using copper grease on all mating surfaces, especially on the pad backs and brake disc to hub. I use it between the anti-squeal shims too. Put a little on bolt threads....well everywhere really! Scott
