mikca01
has anyone tried diesel oil with the detergent in it instead of a flush? was told it cleans better if you leave it in for a month or so then change it for a decent oil. cheers mitch
shocks
er no, never heard of it and i for one would never do it. i flushed an engine once and it did it no favours, now i just run half a litre through at time of oil change it picks up a few bits of extra crap if i have any sitting in the sump. Dorris
If your service your engine properly there is no need to flush the engine, however if you have gone years between servicings and the oil has consistency of wet paint then it would be an idea to flush it with a cheap oil of the same grade.
