anhnguyen87
So I have an '01 celica t sport, installed an induction kit and the engine light comes on. Got a diagnostic and it is the air mass sensor. Apparently its not used to having so much air coming in and thinks there is something wrong with the engine. Apparently its a common fault, and can affect the fuel economy. Anyone had similar problems in the past? And any known cures? Sorry to kp posting but its real annoying! Old Red Celica
You'll have to fit a restrictor back into the pipe. http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=127862
RoryK
Which induction kit did you install ? Have you seated the MAF correctly and is it on tight ? Even if the Maf is on the wrong way round it can cause the CEL to come on. Did you clean the MAF when you installed it also ? I have an AEM CAI on mine and not had any problems! anhnguyen87
I installed the KnN typhoon kit. Yeah the maf is fitted on very securely and was cleaned properly prior to installation. Apparently its taking in too much air and the sensor does not approve! Looking like I DO need 2fit the restrictor bk on. Although I'm sure that would defeat the purpose?
tabbaranx
I have a Ebay/Blitz hybrid Cold Air Induction and have never had a CEL, seems a bit hit and miss for the 7 but there is a Blue Bomber Mod that combats this somewhere on here..
