yellowchinaman
ITs that time again for my car. What do you think of K20TT Denso TT Sparks?
oilman
I like Denso plugs, I'd normally go for them over NGK. If you want a better one than the K20TT, go for the IK20. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-3929-denso-iridium-power-spark-plug-ik20.aspx Cheers Tim
yellowchinaman
how are they any better than the K20TT Tim? I used to love the Halo sparks which I boght a while back. Such a huge difference in MPG and very good price for a full set but unfortunately no longer to be found any more.
oilman
Hi The IK20s are Iridium plugs, so they last longer (up to about 70k) and give a better spark. Cheers Tim
Vince Noir
You used to like the Halo's in your Faff, Ray?! They made my car mess the bed after about 500miles of use & especially under full load it would miss horribly, causing very jerky acceleration. Similar stories across the GT4 sites too from what I found. Now I just use NGK 6097 BKR7E's and change them more frequently as they're so cheap and work so well for me and others. Oh and apparently 3SGTE engines do not get on with Iridium plugs, but Platinum are fine.
yellowchinaman
yeah they worked wonders when I had them? I wasnt aware that others had problems with halo's. I never had any missfire and acceloration was always consistant with mine. So it looks like platinum NGK's than?
Vince Noir
I'd say so mate, yeah.
bigstring
I always used the halo or brisk plugs with no problems?
Insanity-74
Plain old Copper core plugs. Iridium plugs are so hit and miss when it comes to GT4s so best avoided. Platinums would be my second choice... Over the years I have forked out a fortune on all sorts on fancy spark plugs....Platinums, iridiums even those silver jobbies a multitude of heat ranges and plug gaps......from a drivers point of view the £8 a set Champion copper plugs from Halfords are just the same..in fact slightly better in some respects as I dont get the slight flat spot at 3000rpm that I had with the iridiums and to a lesser extent the platinums. Admittedly they dont last as long but for that price who cares. Give the cheap copper plugs a try and its a safe bet you wont be disapointed...more money left to spend on petrol then enjoying the autumn sunshine and country roads. Vince Noir
I get mine from here each time. They arrive next day, even in N.Ireland - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200654979921?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649#ht_1632wt_1189
yellowchinaman
6097 the correct model for the ST205 thought?
Vince Noir
Yes bud, 6097 relates to the heat code as far as i know. I run 7's as they're 1 cooler than the standard 6's - due to having a few of the usual mods. Did a quick search on a few of the GT4 sites and confirmed it.
