  1. cant remember but its 118mph, similar in australia too. I found this out driving my sisters evo 9 and couldn't get the thing above 180kph (roughly 118mph) that was still being bad though considering australian speed limit is 100kph but an evo 9 is good for a lot more than 118mph
  2. mondo fitted these to his ssi in ivory leather and they looked amazing having had a load of old xr3's and xr2's these seats are fantastic for comfort
  3. most imports get a convertor chip fitted so they read properly. set of uk clocks should be able ot pick up on ebay. i remember reading somewhere that this can remove the limiter etc, but would need to make sure its facelift for facelift if you know what i mean
  4. I know this might be controversial but im glad the MOT rules have changed regarding HIDS as i hate getting blinded by the things
  5. fit uk clocks and it solves that. or get a delimiter chip I have had a few 190's in one of my gen 6's but the real thing is how its driven. if the 190 gets his gear changes right and keeps it in lift he will spank you, but the gen 6 has more power for more of the time meaning if the gen 7 is driven by a sloppy oaf or a middle aged woman you have a chance. on anonther note i was talking the other day of spanking a import GT4 on a private road because he was limited to 118mph
  6. toyota call it astral black but its just standard base black paint. no flimflams its not even metalic
  7. i read something recently that said the gen 7 was built in the lowest numbers of any celica.....you wouldn't know it though as they are everywhere. i see about 20 a day
  8. haha not quite the same thing, but just went out to get a box from the car and some kid with his carer (some kind of mental disability) said "cool car" so let him sit in it and mash the horn etc its not about showing the love its about sharing the love
  9. 3sfe is a lower power economy 2.0 and less reliable and to be honest doesn'y give enoug of an improvement on MPG to make up for the lack of power the 3sge rev 3 is flawless and tbh even after a year it will rock into life with a jump start ssi is always a 3sfe engine and the ssii is basically the jap version of the gen 6 GT all gen 6 cars are ST20_ apart from the ST which is an AT200
  10. Could have 4ws if it's an l ref 3sfe auto Most probably a ssii though with a 3sge
  11. ford guys wave at each other because they are amazed at how they are still going......i know this to be true because i used to do it
  12. did you buy one or make your own? im thinking about a blasting cabinet for cleaning up all the stuff i take off
  13. for the time and effort involved in sanding alloys back to a decent surface you could just drop them at you local blasters and pay him £50 to do them on the side, then painting is a doddle
  14. just goes to show how strong the gen 6 is lucky man and i hope it never happens to anyone on here
  15. good news is paint matching isn't an issue as the gen 6 black is just base black if you have someone who can sort it cheap it should be good, but I have had similar happen and i know how pi$$ed you can get from peoples ignorance
  16. it can be done with cans. i think blade posted something up in the modifications forum recently about painting a wing and he got good results. but all painting requires good prep and take your time
  17. good luck, i was pretty sure all the outers where the same bar the ABS ring
  18. i still remember my roadtrip and when i was looking for Ade's house i just had a hunch it was the one with all the jap cars all over the grass and the pavement and the driveway
  19. ssii superstrut has the normal gen 6 rack which is a bit loose and huge the ssiii like wickies and the rack on mine is the same as the gt4 quick rack, this combination blow any mac car out of the water you cant compare a fwd car to a mr car you nutter just how much is in your garden these days ?
  20. no idea, my mechanic got one from dingbro for about £20 which was abs specific, but as my car has no ABS we just removed the ring let me see if i can get a part number for one sorry cant get part number he used, but you can try www.buypartsby.co.uk
  21. splines are all the same on the outers, difference is your uk GT one will have to be ABS specific for the outers and all inners are specific to the gearbox so yours being an s54 will be the same inners as any import with an s54 even a beams as i said all outers have exactly the same splines and even a superstrut cv joint is the same as a macpherson one even the CV joint for an outer on the ST is the same as a GT fittment wise hope the abvoe makes sense
  22. ah im with you now, early 190s in my opinion are still towards the £2k mark for a bottom car
  23. lol dont follow you kev its a shame they aint worth more but thats the way it goes, i bought my 1996 gen 6 when values where still over £2k for a goodun and now a goodun is less than half that, + an x or W reg gen 7 140 is now 13 years old so values are dropping
  24. price is about right as i bet they want rid of it because its drinking oil tbh an x reg 140 is only worth about £1200 in excellent condition in my eyes, i can get 140s for under a grand up here any day of the week
  25. Ade I seriously think we must be related
