New rear disks, handbrake shoes and fitting kit. That's this afternoon sorted. Lol
-
If you go for a catch can with a return to the inlet make sure it's baffled so the oil has the chance to drop out of suspension. I'd get the same for one running to a filter too TBH.
-
If the lip's in Leicester I'll grab it on the way back from Brum Ade. If it's in Kettering I can do either.
Will drop it off at yours on the way home. I'm getting my petrol paid for the distance to Brum & back so no probs.
-
Logically it would go pre turbo, as the pressure in the air inlet needs to be lower for it to work and post turbo might result in air being forced the wrong way into the cam covers.
The MoT guys only check emissions from the exhaust and removing the input of manky oily gasses will only improve the exhaust emissions.
-
Ade, I'll be up in Brum from the 7th - 10th April and could easily make a detour to collect in the Celica on the way back.
Otherwise I'll be in Bedford on the 15th and could run over to Kettering after my track day if the car hasn't blown up. Lol

I bought my set from Halfrauds and they're okish (only £20 for the set), been on for a few months and not started to rust yet. Lol

im getting hilux front shaft on that one, is that the same size?
I'd trust Mr Woods' judgement on that one. Many bits on Toyotas are interchangable.
As an alternative one of the guys on TB suggested this:
-
90520-27091 from Mr Woods.
-
Ah, gotcha. Profile/cross section not shape, I'm being dense.
-
Popped that up for you.
The thing that's confusing me is you mention 90520-26028 is square in shape, surely it should be round? It's the same part number as the circlip that holds the outer CVs on the MK2 Tubby drive shafts and that's def round.

Posted for ya bud.
Would you be able to measure the diameter of the groove for reference?
-
No worries. You will need some bolts to attach the engine to the stand as well, gearbox to engine bolts are the best bet. I imagine the beaker guys will have buckets of em.
-
Bloody hell I'm glad I didn't break the snap rings when I changed the outer CVs on my MR2.
Although I'm sure at least one of the guys on Twobrutal will have broken one, we swap the outer CVs so the Mk2 turbo shaft will plug straight into the Mk1 MR2 hubs.
Shall I ask over there for you or will it be a different snap ring?
-
ARB Goodness.
-
That'd do fine, I have the Clarke version and had my 3.0 V6 attached to it.
-
On Toyo DIY there's a part number for 'RING, SNAP (FOR REAR AXLE SHAFT LH)' 90521-79002.
Same part number for the right hand one.
-
Have you had a look on www.toyodiy.com? I've had a look at the MR2 and they list the snap ring seperately, I can't imagine them not supplying it seperately it's pretty much a consumable item.
I reckon they didn't look properly.

We have the same problems with our works vehicle, it seems to have some kind of cloaking device which shields the bright orange and white reflective stickers down the sides and the lights on the roof. Plus the fact it's a friggin Hilux.

In my first Celica I found a leather case under the seat with a nice set of brass scales and a scattering of a strange green herbal material. Can't think what that was used for.
-
Be very careful when removing the rear calipers, the bolts shear quite easily if they are seized in with rust.
-
I found 3 different Japanese coins totalling 106 Yen, I left 2 of the coins in the ashtray and the one with the hole in the middle is on my keyring now.
-
I'm slowly wearing down the Gen 6 owners in Gosport, there are a couple of Black Gen 6s and a couple of Blue/Purple ones and I give them a flash and/or a wave every time I see them.
They WILL be assimilated resistance is futile. Lol
-
Have you considered getting the starter motor reconditioned by an auto electrician?
-
Holy crap, that's pretty mullered, but a testiment to our tough old Toyotas.
Remote key fob gone nuts help please?

Just had another thought the key may not work in the doors because the locks are seized up from lack of use, so some WD40 or similar sprayed into the lock may help.
Otherwise my first thought (as per FB) was a possible electrical issue with the central locking being stuck in 'open' mode.
Or as above fob battery if the light's not working on the fob.
