  1. Mine wasn't an sr model either. You would be amazed how damp the metal roof gets on the inside between the headlining. Clean and re-grease the contacts or swap it out for a new unit.
  2. As dublet says. Check for voltage at the bulb terminals on the roof light. Sometimes knackered/cheap chinese led can still light up a bit And is the new bulb rated for 12v and not 24v. The beams clock use led I think in the red and blue bulb holder I think as standard. I think the dome fuse controls the interior lights. Radio and clock. I also had problems with the integration relay in the fuse box under the steering wheel. This controls most of the interior lights. It must be replaced with another with the same part number. It is a white or green box a couple inches in size.
  3. I had a problem with my roof lights once. It turned out that condensation had corroded the terminals on the back of the lamp unit. May be worth a look. 2 screws hold it in iirc. Check the dome light fuse also. It may have half popped .
  4. Also. Water based paint dries a different shade so the colour in the can is not necessarily what it will look like when dried. Water base also takes longer to dry then solvent.
  5. As you put pressure on the dent gently tap down the crowns (in the reflection where it pinches together)to release the stress.
  6. Its not that I want shiny , I want them to stay clean/free from rust. So I should steer away from stainless then, what about galvanised, thats just plated mild steel right.? I am learning by the way and I appreciate all the comments!!
  7. In that case the bolts from the split rims would be stainless and the nuts mild steel so using stainless nuts would be a good thing in this instance? remember they are just for show .
  8. Thanks for the replies. I need 120 new nuts to replace the rusty ones removed from my split rims which turn out to be welded together so they just need to look nice and not go brown rusty. so,for example if I want to replace a wing bolt (10mm socket head) with a stainless one what would I need, i.e M? x 20mm length, flanged hex thanks.
  9. Can anyone please tell me what size bolts are used on a gen 6, ie, m5 m6 m7 etc mainly the 10mm nuts/bolts 12mm " " 14mm " " I don't have a gauge to measure the bolts and I want to get stainless ones ordered this week. Thank you. Daz.
  10. I have a white 3 post you can have for £10 plus delivery.
  11. the micro switches in the fob break off the board, it is possible to re solder them but it is very tricky, I did mine on the yaris (same key I think) and now works perfect.
  12. This stuff looks good, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metal-Rescue-Bath-Rust-Remover-Treatment-Safe-On-Everything-Except-Rust-/280957546749?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item416a5ff0fd There is a powder on eBay, oxalic acid I think that I have used befor with good results, it does mean removing the rusty parts and leaving them in the solution in a bucket overnight.
