  1. Its not something you would really think to check but along with both of mine there have been about 5 or 6 others gone that i know of in a 12 month period. TCB are turning them out at a special price at mo so worth checking your own to be sure Was looking at this one earlier - seems good value for a 97 car. usetheforce has his red late spec 98 car up for sale but its red not white - but look at Ita's for inspiration.
  2. Aye but have you checked your fuel pipes on yours - i wager that my 40'000 mile car is probably in better condition than most GT4's yet mine still corroded away as its something that cant be helped. Still stand by my previous that Robs old car is the best white 205 ive ever seen and ive seen a fair few.
  3. Its finding a good one now - Robs was a proven car with the right mods to transform it into a proper fast road weapon.
  4. Obviously a £1500 is not going to be the best but they like most cars that dont offer great mpg are very cheap at moment. When they offer a similar mpg to a twin turbo version people simply buy the turbo unless insurance / temptation to go crazy is too much
  5. If you have a scout round you still might find the AA man - if he drove you back to Maltby his van will have been on bricks once he stopped at 1st set of lights
  6. He was in manchester but lives in rotherham - long way to be towed unless done properly
  7. No point in spending silly money on a alloy one thats not needed or owt like that - 2nd hand oem is what you want
  8. Whilst i agree a nice white 205 is a nice car by jesus they are as common as muck If i didnt have grey it would have to be a black one
  9. Too late its sold to a bloke in mansfield went yesterday grey one still for sale though http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/celica/toyota-celica-gt4-2006/1213224
  10. Considered a mk2 MR2 ?? Both RWD , both Toyotas , both have no really small boots and as rear seats are so bloody silly in the supra you could class both as 2 seaters. I know this is way over budget but looks sweet http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/mr2/toyota-mr2-rev-5-turbo/1142922
  11. Id put one of these on http://www.chipexpress.com/products/toyota/auris/ Nearly 400lb ft torque
  12. I like the later ST246 but this is just far too similar to a stock avensis for me plus amongst the most hideous of all toyota interiors
  13. Ah ignore my last then If i was going Toyota and had to fit 3 kids id have one of these - for me much better looking than the awful corolla http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/auris/toyota-auris-2-2-d-4d-sr180-tdi/1011591
  14. Its got to be able to fit 3 kids in the back - so the above cars are ruled out
  15. Bumblebee is selling one thats needs re laquering for £75 i think
  16. I can see the appeal to JDM fanboys but as said for me and having inquisitive children id rather not have them.
  17. With police currently enforcing silly laws very rigidly you could in theory be done for owning a pyrotechnic if they for some reason did a search of your veichle. Both our cars had them but binned them as imo zero requirement for them and only takes one drunk passenger to cause mayhem.
  18. Im getting Ray to do mine in proper carbon like his eventually but its crazy money really. As john says look at what Hexis can offer - be unique
  19. I dont think there is a car currently on sale with worse alloys than the GT86
  20. Even with a bodykit and fancy seats though it imo was trying to steal sales in a segment where it was up against far more talented rivals. As said from my time at a main dealer Toyotas main customer base was from existing owners upgrading - and with the gen 6 and especially the gen 7 we found that the male in the family was usually a successful person who would run a Lexus or Landcruiser and buy a gen 6 GT / gen 7 for his wife. Its now harder for Toyota to bring in customers as they have not a car in the sports car segment since the MR2 and Celicas demise. As said im not slating the product as im Toyota through and through but the quality of the modern Toyotas from say 99 on has fallen considerably. But everyone knows that and the new president seems to be desprate to change that perception by improving this. I hope that they in time have a similar line up to the hey days of the 90's when the Mr2 and celica were big sellers and then you had the halo model Supra - wether it happens who knows but would be nice
  21. Because as you say they always overprice cars - st205 was £30K when impreza was £20k and Escort cossie £25K The celica cabriolet was £30K - same price as top spec BMW 328 soft tops. The gen 7 GT was way overpriced compared to the mazda RX8 230 and Nissan 350Z When i was at Toyota we hardly ever drew in new customers but people who would upgrade from a older car. Once your in a Toyota you do appreciate how good they are but if they are too expensive in 1st place your not going to sell it They sell things far too expensive and whilst they might sell a few they will never be a huge sales success - imo its best to price things at a more affordable level and make less profit on each car but more in the long run as you will shift more numbers. But that just me and im not in charge of Toyota UK's pricing policy
  22. I know its not - its been designed as a " affordable " fun car. As usual Toyotas pricing is way off the mark - but for me id spend my money on a porsche cayman. If this was 3 / 4 years down the line when values plummet like almost all toyota residuals then id not be averse to spending reasonable money on one but no way would i fork out on a new one
  23. Like you i too would buy a used cayman S - the 86 is nice dont get me wrong but the porsche - imo anyway - is a special car
