  4. i think the trouble is where the dealers are asking ridiculous prices for doing services , i mean if a service cost 130 all in and they renewed the following: *oil & filter sumpplug - this has got to cost you between 30-40 for decent oil (not gonna make the mistake i made years ago on my v6 with cheap oil) *coolant change 23 -red longlife 5ltr or 36 - pink super long life 5ltr *airfilter 5-20 approx *fuel filter & sparkplugs not sure how much sparkys are for the toyotas *gearbox oil change - again not sure how much here everybody would pay that im sure the guy who bought my car six mths before i bought it spent nearly 300-400 for all fluids but seems strange as they was never anything that mentioned coolant change but that has been recently done anyway so that would be one less thing to do but when you work out the cash it would always be the labour that cripples you especially if they dont constantly work on the car in one hit , this is why i prefer to get most done myself when needed and im sure it wont cost you between 300-400 per service i can see if the car is a low mileage say around the 60k mark then im sure it would be worth getting the stamp in the book but for anything above that because they are higher rated and also the cars depreciate so much so whats the bother and most people will upgrade to a better model of car anyway as long as youve maintained the car thats all that matters unless you have a lower mileage
  5. i have a great fantastic mechanic mate of mine whos recently replace the leaky rad on the 7 , he did that for 110 quid for 4-5hours work and a fantasic guy , he has all the tools and a proper hydraulic lift and in his spare time he dabbles on other car projects of his own and he charges a lot less than any garage.ok hes about 20miles from me but i would always use him because he happened to be a vauxhall specilist over the last 30 years and he rebuilds chevettes from the ground up and it was great to see how he sorted the radiator because he removed everything and replace new radiator followed by the coolant fillup without any issues ....
  6. still loving this mod and theres a hell of a difference when i up the lower revs and still no flatspots , if someone has done this and has fitted a performance panel filter do they fancy doing a vid or a soundclip for us .
  7. i would suggest either have a rifle handy to shoot the bastard thing or remove the lime up as quick as you can before it dries
  8. well guys it sounds much better but soon i will accompany it with a performance panel filter, upto 5000rpm and no bogging or flatspots and lift it sounds much awesomeness lol and i still have the two bars remaining before it gets to half a tank lol .. so great result and its nurse amys fault lol because she told me to do it so it got me thinking today and it only took 10mins to take the butterfly out ,reset battery and pop a bolt in the end of the hose plus i didnt need to remove the whole top of the airbox .
  9. yeah im waiting to try it with hyper thrust later lol
  10. its so much different but would you say the hose that you put a bolt /screw in sucks in a lot or not id say it does sound more better than a induction kit on most of the chaved up cars (i dont mean the CAI that are professionly put on ours lol
  11. man what a difference lol , i disconnected the battery , pulled out the butterfly gently screw a small bolt into the hose and whizzed up the road its does sound awesome and i still have a paper filter lol... no cels either
  12. im sure i used this in a old mk2 vx cavalier years ago and it worked for that old car
  13. here you go ger : http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_195469_langId_-1_categoryId_255221
  14. have you done a full oil change yet mate , im due to do one next month on the tsport
  15. so why doesnt the 6 not have one and the 7 does , most cars have them seems a bit strange why they wouldnt
  16. another satisfied customer , i also made sure the temp setting was up on hot as carla suggested ,massaging pipes and having the expansion bottle as high as it would go
  17. oh yeah mate i forgot you have a pre 140 (such a shame the oil issue is on these cars )
  18. whys that bud , hows it not running right at the moment
  19. i personally think it does , it feels more cleaner with additives in it and on the gen7 's you have to use super unleaded as on the manual and the previous guy who owned it used nothing but vpower.
  20. yeah i guess it varies at different prices at different oulets , especially like bp whose petrol down here is more than shell
