  1. Saw this a while ago as I was searching autotrader. It looks a lovely example, the gen 7 red interior fits perfectly and gen 6 wheels, look tidy without being out of keeping with the car. I'd not be surprised if it was ex CCUK. The verts aren't my favourite shape, they look very US in my opinion, but I couldn't stop looking at that one.
  2. Happy Anniversary rich_p!

  3. Lol, I willhave to look into getting a retrim done on it at somepoint with some sponge glued underneath. At the moment i usually just throw a jumper over it on longer trips
  4. No where for nearly a month now I'll be doing a 300 mile (each way) trip to aberdeen shortly for a training course, despite some of my colleagues doing the same thing in my hometown! Quite looking forward to the run out though I love how many are using Celica's as daily drives. They may not be the most practical/ Economic in this day and age, But it think it proves they are worthwhile in so many other ways!
  5. Happy Anniversary rich_p!

  6. You can get near flush fit USB sockets for power from the cig lighter, then use USB cable for sat nav power, which again is alot less chunky than the normal cig lighter power adapter. Griffin make a double USB thing for about a £10 sold in tesco. No doubt cheaper on Ebay. I'm currently not liking that my Celica is overseas in another country, and the missus has the keys!!
  7. Agreed, been on my "to do" list for a while, but other spends have always got in the way. Supercharger Putting some electrical tape around the boot catch really helps with that, as does making sure theres nothing that can rattle around in the under-mat storage trays.
  8. I REALLY wish the arm rest on a gen7 had some padding accross it
  9. I squeezed as much of my headlight In oven as i could and watrmed the glue that way. I Also gave them a few prolonged blasts with a hairdryer the then pulled at them like crazy, rembering to undo the tabs before hand to allow a bit more more movement. I find ribbed has a pleasing effect
  10. Could be advan Advan TC Very JDM, and potentially valuable after a refurb, and pending fitment. Not bad
  11. The only thing putting me off doing my own minor is not getting a stamp.. Does anyone on here consider this as an issue? I've had no qualms in the past as my cars have had incomplete SH to begin with, but with the celica having low for its age mileage and FSH it seems a shame to lose it. It'll be going to my usual mechanic though should i decide against doing it myself.
  12. I got my 60K major service done at Toyota. I dont recall it being be particularly cheap but as it was it's firsdt in my ownership and hadnt seen a Dealership garage (Or one that I knew to be good) in a long while I don't mind paying for the extra peace of mind you get with a stealership following the correct schedule etc. As for the minor I agree it's pretty much looks to be a very pricey oil change with some half assed visual inspections. That one i think i'll claim for myself and save a few quid.
  13. Well done sir! And beautifully written too. I remember when I renewed it was taking a whole on ask mid, was driving around very nervous of the BIB, expecting just such an incident.
  14. Instinctively flashed lights at another blue gen 7 today, and got a wave back Had a few around York and hull when I first got the car too. Good times, lol.
  15. Found this site the other day and was chuffed to find two gen 7 Celicas in the sport car section. Just a small novelty really but entertains me http://www.vehiclesforgarminnuvi.com/ Used them both recently and they work well, really easy to install too.
  16. 225/45 16 on an 8j 215/45 17 on an 8j A little stretch but nothing drastic
  17. Work meister I believe, gonna do a quick google. certainly JDM keep hold of them! Confirmed, seem to come in a bolted split rim or simple two piece as above. http://prolifik-one.com/tag/work-meister/ Rota also copied them with the D1, but they loom far too chunky to be those.
  18. Personally I'd go silver or black too. I like the idea of matching it to the wheels too though! Previous owner of mine went for red, matching the calipers, and I must say I'm not a fan. The worst part is he actually did a good job of it :s it'll be awkward to strip and reprint when I eventually get the time.
  19. I bought the current edition today and noticed that in the back too. Must be an incredible machine Theres also a page on why a gen 6 GT4 makes a good buy as an affordable Jap performance car, alongside the SW20 MR2 ofcourse
  20. 215 is minimum width, this should provide minimum if any stretch. I'm sure I've seen pictures of this setup on a Celica, and it looked perfectly normal. You are correct in saying 225 would be ideal though. I confess I've not looked at what is available to get close to a stock rolling radius or if there would be any rubbing issues with the extra width. http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/equivalency-tables-advice.html
  21. Does anyone have pictures of how 215/40 vs 215/45 look? I'm looking getting some 17x8 wheels and know that standard 205/45 isn't an option. Does anyone have pictures of how 215/40 vs 215/45 look? I'm looking getting some 17x8 wheels and know that standard 205/45 isn't really an option.
  22. Welcome to Celica Club UK rich_p :)
