  1. Happy 4 Anniversary Kazi!

  2. so way would there have been a tesco 99 wagon filling the pipes in a shell garage? only going on what the driver said. BUT i know this has been an issue as well on IMOC about shell franchises
  3. you have to be careful with shell as i got caught out. if the shell garage isn't run by shell itself and is franchised out, the chances of it being proper Vpower stuff will be slim. I only know this as I was talking to the tanker driver after I filled up with £50 worth of "Vpower" and the driver was in a Tesco 99 wagon. he said the the majority of franchised shell petrol stations he fills up use the Tesco 99 fuel. safe to say i was pissed as i spent £1.30 on so called Vpower when i could have gone less than 1/4 mile up the road and paid £1.23 for 99. so... when in Inverness.... don't go to shell....
  4. could be. I've not come across it before. I know RX7 FD callipers are a common upgrade but thats about it.
  5. so these are the discs that where on it. still none the wiser as to what they are from. disc size is 277mm from the looks of things.
  6. Thanks?? Haha I thought the 205 ones had Celica on the side of them? So are we saying 185?
  7. took the callipers of the blue AE86 about 10 mins ago. last owner said they where GT4 brakes. Are they? if so which ones? 185,205?
  8. Have you really??? beast. I had one before the celica. dropped the 4efte from a starlet into it. 140bhp in something as light as a pound coin sure hammers on. My girlfrend got one a few months ago. forgot how nippy they are.
  9. Not sure if this is the correct place to put this topic. knowing my luck more than likely not. I'm needing to respray the rocker cover and inlet manifold on the beams as the paint is scratched. i was going to send them both to a local sprayer to get them properly done but in order to save some costs so i can get this build finished-ish and get the AE86 purchased I'm going to do it myself. what I need help on is this..... How does the Grit system work? What number do you use first and last? Do i need to use a different technique when sand plastic etc?
  10. Toyota Paseo... planing dropping my old 3sge in it when I'm done.
  11. Seen some nice water paint done on carbon before. And looks ace. Can see the weave when the sun hits it. Might just get it re laqured sometime after its on. save me some cash for important stuff haha
  12. I'm in the same boat for when I come round to popping mine on. I'm either wanting to get it re lacquered or get it painted. but I'm still wanting to see the weave of carbon through it... don't want it look like a bad boy bonnet from a corsa lol. lacquer is a bit dodge on it as you can see from the pic lol. knew that before i got it right enough.
  13. don't use boiling water! made that mistake on my Glanza and it fucked the paint right up! I normally use a hair dryer and a lot of tar/glue remover in between.
  14. got it off. wedged a bit of wood between the small bolts that hold the clutch onto the flywheel. took a bit of doing but got there in the end. cheers for the help!
  15. I'm having trouble removing the flywheel from my Beams right now. What's the best way to brace the flywheel so it doesn't move every time I try to undo the bolts? the engine is out of the car if that makes any difference. many thanks
  16. oh this old chestnut  technically no as the font size is small and reserved for imported vehicals only but trying to find a cop that knows its illegal is slim. if you are going to get one get an import plate and not a square plate as IMO the square ones look gash.
  17. because you can take it off while driving lol. its meant to be fixed. OH and Dan your hand will go black when its new!
  18. I've had/got both. suede is lovely when its brand new but gets really slippery when its worn. mine wore out in 8 months and that was from weekend driving so not sure what it would be like for everyday driving. I had a Kode racing one and replaced it for a Nardi from a MX5 and if far better IMO. snap-off boss wise I have a NRG boss fitting at the moment. if you like touching the stalks with your fingers then deepdish and a snap off are a bad combo. Its great if you do track days or even have bucketseats fitted and its a bit tight to get in and out the car. and plus the cool factor at shows other than that they are a pain in the arse. if Mr police man pulls you over with one you'll get nailed, cant have them on for MOTs and the horns are a pain to get working properly. That saying i wouldn't take it off now. BE WARNED!! avoid the unbranded ebay bosses. they are utter shit. anything over 60mph your sterring wheel is all over the place. if you are going to put one on, do it right and spent some money on it. NRG and D1 are pretty good this is my snap off boss when before i fitted it.
  19. my dad was on about this just yesterday. had a read of the whole article. very well done!
  20. thats great lads. cheers for all the help. will look into all your info.
  21. great advice. will keep that in mind.
  22. I'm going to be repairing the engine wiring loom for my beams conversion in the next few days or so. Does anyone know if there is a certain amp or wire required to use for the engine loom? Don't want one that has to little or to much ampage.
  23. I sorry for the late reply, I have only just got back from holiday. the tyres are 215/35/ZR18 and I have 6 wheels with this car. the engine work was done before I got the car and I was told it's had new polished cams fitted and other engine work, but I do not know when or how much work was done, as for tuning, I am not a mechanic and not sure what he meant by tuning as the GT stuff is mostly pre set. I hope this info helps. This was the reply.... So by polished he means standard.
  24. i had to ask what "tuning" has been done. should be a good reply!
