  1. Cool, that would help. Tried three different turbos (as kept buying them!) and all had same issue. Thinking maybe manifold is a bit different maybe...

Photo would be really useful :)

My car is actually in Southampton and I am back in Cardiff (nowhere to do the build here so using my friends drive).

Only photo I have of dry fit, this was using olives as spacers.

Where it hits, it's not the smaller pipe on the actuator that's an issue as can be cut back.

Oh, and yes the coolant lines are in a stupid position!

    EDIT

    I don't think I have an st185 manifold....just had a moment of obviousness/stupidness, the outlet is not twin !

Which is prob why does not clear or angle correctly!!!

Can you/anyone confirm? Then will ask the breakers :)

    (Have the st165 maybe?)

  2. That must have been fun!

Measured up, the spacer concept is a good un but switching to a spacer between the manifold and turbo now, as new manifold studs would be needed, happier removing the ones from the turbo than the engine in case one breaks off.

Now downpipe hits radiator fan so off to work on that one :)

  3. Cheers guys!

Had thought of clocking turbo but that doesn't move the actuator as clocked on compressor side...I believe.

Like the spacer idea, neat. Will take a look at the bits tomorrow :) like you say, no future issues, assuming doesn't push downpipe to far forward :)

    Thanks for the ideas!

  4. Hi, I'm fitting a turbo (CT26) to my 3SFE. The wastegate actuator is hitting the outermost metal waterbypass pipe for coolant system. See this diagram below,

    3sfecoolinghosediagram.jpg

It hits the righthand side of the front pipe. To fit the turbo I need to remove part of that pipe. It looks like it's easier to actually cut it on the left hand side, where it separates from the pipe behind.

My plan was to cut it on the left and right hand side, remove and run a new pipe in it's place, that has enough flex to fit around where the actuator will then sit.

My question is assumedly these are metal due to heat as run next the exhaust manifold. Will high temperature hose be ok ? As I need it flexible enough to move out the way of the actuator. But don't want it to melt!

    Any good tips?

  5. As title, 3sfe engine but in general as I am sure it is a general item. Pipe that pushes air, not sucking, from head into air intake pre throttle bottle.

Assuming it is recyling something, but anyone give me a nod to what it is and does specifically? Reason being wandering if with turbo still fine to fit into the pipes pre throttle body/post intercooler.

    Thanks!

  6. Hi, I've put this in general as it covers multiple gens, if a mod thinks it should be in the 6th gen apologies.

Does anyone know if I can use a st185 style lambda sensor and plug into my 3sfe connector? As turbo downpipe is for the gt4 type, but my one is a screw in one for SSI or gt 6th gen...
